Heritage splits with Ringgold

The Lady Generals scored a 4-1 win over county neighbors on Thusrday, thanks in part to singles wins by Christol (6-0, 6-2), Phillips (6-0, 6-2) and McKenzie (6-4, 6-2).

Ringgold won at No. 1 doubles, but Jost and Mock would prevail in the other doubles match, 6-0, 4-6, 10-7. Mckenzie Wimberly also won an exhibition singles match for Heritage.

Biddle got his first career singles win with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in the boys’ match, while the Generals’ No. 1 doubles team of Buckles and Veal won a three-hour marathon, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. However, Heritage had to default the other doubles match, giving the Tigers a 3-2 victory.

Heritage also hosted Christian Heritage on Friday night and the Lady Generals suffered their first loss of the year with a 4-1 setback. Phillips won 6-4, 7-6 (3) at No. 2 singles for the lone victory. Results of the boys’ match had not been reported as of press time.
