Ringgold, Heritage start out 5-0

The Ringgold Tigers stayed unbeaten on the season after winning three games last week, starting with a 4-2 over visiting McCallie on Monday.

Logan Bramlett went 0-4 at the plate, but made the most of his at-bats by driving in three runs. He knocked in a run with a groundout in the third inning and plated two runs on another ground out in the fourth.

Aiden Hickman scored twice, drove in a run and swiped four bases, while Haddon Fries drew three walks, scored once and also stole four bases.

Garrett Edgar pitched the first three innings. He allowed no runs on three hits with three strikeouts. Hickman gave up an earned run on three hits and no walks in three innings of relief. He struck out three batters before Brayden Sylar closed it out in the seventh. He gave up a hit and two walks, but fanned two McCallie hitters to escape trouble.

Ringgold 6, Trion 2

The Tigers put up three runs in bottom of the third inning to take the lead for good on Tuesday. Jackson Black gave up just one earned run on two hits in his five innings of work on the mound. He struck out five batters and walked two. Bramlett pitched two innings of relief. He did not give up an earned run and allowed just one hit and one walk with two strikeouts.

Colt Forgey went 2 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI. Sylar knocked in a pair of runs. Black helped his own cause with a double, while Edgar and Bramlett both picked up solo RBIs.

Ringgold 15, Saddle Ridge 0

Edgar and Sylar combined on a no-hitter in Thursday’s win, teaming up to allow four walks with seven strikeouts in three innings as the Tigers

moved to 5-0 on the season.

Aiden Hickman went 3 for 3 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored. Edgar was 2 for 3 with a triple, one run scored and three RBIs. Logan Bramlett

had a hit, scored twice and knocked in two runs, while Sylar, Jackson Black, Isaac Crew and Pierce Pennington all knocked in one run each.

Daxtin Edwards, Payton Keef and Sam Ellis all pitched

for the Mustangs.

Heritage 7, Gordon Lee 1

The Generals got two hits and two RBIs from Owen

Carstens in a victory over the Trojans last Tuesday night.

Cody Bryan had a double and knocked in two runs for the home team. Maddox Henry and Ty Hunt each had one hit and one RBI, while Lex Davey also singled for the Generals.

Carstens picked up the victory on the hill. He pitched three innings of two-hit ball and did not allow an earned run. He walked three batters and struck out two. Davey pitched two innings, giving up two hits and a walk with three strikeouts, while Henry Allen struck out two batters in his two innings out of the bullpen.

Aiden Goodwin, Ty Thompson, Dustin Day and Brock Crutchfiel­d all had singles for Gordon Lee, while Crutchfiel­d picked up the team’s lone RBI. Goodwin, Thompson, Payton Groce, Troy Phillips and Maddox Millard all pitched for the Trojans. They gave up four earned runs on six hits with four walks and six strikeouts.

Dalton 12, Gordon Lee 11

The Trojans opened their week last Monday and lost to the Cougars in a road slugfest.

Goodwin had two hits and drove in two runs for the Trojans. Thompson was 2 for 2 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored. Payton Cauthorn had one hit and two RBIs, while Dalton Russell doubled and drove in a run. Millard, Jackson Scali and Landon Norton also had RBIs for Gordon Lee.

Goodwin, Norton, Scali, Day and Brysin Oliver all pitched for the Trojans. They combine to give up six earned runs on nine hits with eight walks and eight strikeouts. Both teams also committed four errors in the field.

Heritage 15, Rossville 0

Brandon Greene and Maddox Henry each hit home runs and drove in two apiece in the Generals’ victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Henry also pitched the first two innings, allowing one hit and striking out five, while Greene pitched one inning. He gave up one hit and one walk and picked up one strikeout.

Ty Hunt and Caden Strickland also had two hits and two RBIs each. Jacob Dawson had a triple, one RBI and scored three runs. Noah Pierce doubled and knocked in a run. Jake Parker had two hits and scored twice, while Cody Bryan had one RBI for Heritage.

Brandon Newport walked four batters and struck out two in 2.2 innings of work for the Bulldogs (0-4). Bryant McGowan and Cecil Farmer each had singles for Rossville.

Gordon Lee 20, Dade 0

The Gordon Lee Trojans sent 16 batters to the plate in the third and saw the first eight reach base safely as a 10-run inning propelled

them to a victory in Trenton on Thursday.

Norton went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and four RBIs in the four-inning contest, while Goodwin scored three times, drew three walks and drove in four runs. Three of those RBIs came courtesy of an inside-the-park homerun.

Thompson and Scali each had two hits and two RBIs. Garrett Ross had a hit, two RBIs and scored three runs. Millard scored three times and knocked in one run, while Day, Crutchfiel­d and Jonah Davenport also had solo RBIs.

Norton got the win with a four-inning complete game. He struck out four batters and scattered just two hits.

Lakeview 9, Saddle Ridge 6

The Warriors held off the Mustangs last Tuesday. Aiden Crawford began his night with a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning for Lakeview and went on to pick up the victory on the mound. He threw three innings, giving up two walks and striking out four, while the run he allowed was unearned.

Chandler Harris and Manning Trusley each finished with two hits. Harris scored twice, while Trusley knocked in a pair of runs. Cade Broom matched Crawford with two RBIs. Broom also pitched three innings, allowing an earned run on two hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Darian Keefe scored three times. Kyler Crawford and Wyatt Grisham both had an RBI, and A.J. Stout had a hit

and scored once. Keefe and Carson Goff both pitched in the seventh. Goff had a pair of strikeouts, while Keefe came in out of the bullpen to record the final out to get the save for Lakeview.

For Saddle Ridge, Aaron Sullivan went 1-3 with two RBIs, while Landen Kirby had a hit and scored twice. Jaxon Green and Keef each had a hit and a run, while additional runs were scored by Cole Scott and Bentley Cannington.

Sullivan threw five innings for the Mustangs, surrenderi­ng four earned runs on six hits with five walks and three strikeouts. Edwards pitched an inning of relief, allowing one earned run on one hit with a pair of walks.

Dalton 11, Lakeview 1

At Heritage Point Park on Thursday, Harris and Aiden Crawford had the only hits for the Warriors. Harris also drove in his team’s only run while drawing two walks and stealing a base.

Trusley, Goff and Tanner Wilson all pitched for Lakeview. They combined to issue five walks and strike out two batters.

Heritage 13, Lakeview 3

The Generals scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning to break open what had been a close game and go on to a home victory on Friday.

Allen got the victory on the mound for the Generals (50). He pitched three innings of one-hit ball, allowing one walk and striking out three, while helping himself at the plate with two hits and two runs scored.

Hunt was 4 for 4 with an

RBI and pitched two innings of relief. He gave up two earned runs on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Carstens powered the Heritage attack with four hits and five RBIs. Henry had two hits, scored three times and knocked in a run. Greene was 1 for 3 with two RBIs, while Jake Collette and Riley Womack each drove in a run.

Keefe allowed four earned runs and struck out three batters in 3.1 innings for the Warriors (1-3), while Crawford pitched 1.1 innings, giving up three runs on two hits and a walk. None of the runs were earned.

Nathaniel Samples had two doubles and knocked in two runs, while Goff delivered a triple.

Chattanoog­a Valley 14, Dade 5

The Eagles got three hits each from Jamie Hinton and Kain Brown as they picked up a win last Tuesday.

Hinton finished 3 for 3 with two walks and four runs scored, while Brown scored twice. Eli Massey had one hit, drew three walks and crossed the plate twice.

Massey also worked four innings on the mound, allowing three runs in the victory, while Dallas Bilbrey was a defensive standout at shortstop before pitching two innings of relief.

LaFayette 16, Rossville 1

The Ramblers scored a road victory last Tuesday. Hunter Jefferies had a pair of doubles, two RBIs and scored three times in the victory. Matthew Thompson had a hit and drove in three runs and Kole Worley doubled, tripled, knocked in a run and scored four runs.

Julian Lees had one hit, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Isaiah McKenzie and Haygen Baker each knocked in a run. Caden Carpenter pitched four innings to get the victory. He gave up one run on two hits and had seven strikeouts.

Zion Jackson took the loss for the Bulldogs. He gave up three hits and struck out two batters. He also led Rossville with two hits at the plate.

Gordon Lee 3, LaFayette 1

The Trojans and Ramblers had a good old-fashioned pitchers’ duel on Friday night in Chickamaug­a, but it would be the home team scoring the victory.

Goodwin pitched three innings for the Trojans (32). He gave up one earned run on two hits and three walks and finished with eight strikeouts. Thompson would throw four innings, allowing one hit and two walks with five strikeouts.

Tucker Crowe pitched 4.1 innings for the Ramblers, giving up an earned run on four hits and one walk with two strikeouts. McKenzie went 1.2 innings in relief. He allowed two earned runs on two hits and three walks and finished with six strikeouts.

Offensivel­y, Groce drove in a pair of runs for the Trojans. Scali was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and one RBI, while Goodwin, Millard, Norton and Crutchfiel­d all had one hit apiece.

Hunter Jefferies went 2 for 3 for LaFayette (1-2). Carpenter picked up a double and Mackenzie scored the only run of the night for the visitors.
