Red-hot Ringgold still unbeaten

The Ringgold Tigers improved to 9-0 overall with a non-league win and a pair of NGAC victories last week.

Ringgold 7, McCallie 3

Last Monday, in Ringgold, Aidan Hickman, Garrett Edgar and Jackson Black all had two hits, including a double, for the Tigers, while Logan Bramlett, Colt Forgey and Isaac Crew all knocked in runs.

Hickman, Edgar and Bramlett pitched two innings apiece and Black threw one. They combined to give up just one hit to go with nine walks and five strikeouts. None of the Blue Tornado’s runs were earned.

Ringgold 14, Chattanoog­a Valley 0

On Tuesday at Ridgeland High School, Edgar had a double and knocked in four runs in the win. Hickman had two hits and scored three times. Logan Moore had a hit and two RBIs. Forgey and Black had two hits apiece, while Black, Bramlett and Brayden Sylar each knocked in a run.

Black and Sylar both pitched two innings for the Tigers. Both struck out two batters, while Sylar allowed three hits.

For the Eagles, Jamie Hinton, Kain Brown and Gavin Hughley all had singles. Hughley, Eli Massey and Luke Blevins combined to give up just two earned runs on 10 hits and five walks with three strikeouts.

Ringgold 13, Lakeview 0

The Tigers needed just five innings to collect another road win on Wednesday. Edgar pitched two innings of no-hit ball with two walks and four strikeouts. Luke Raby allowed one hit and struck out three in his two innings on the mound and Taylor Pierce gave up one hit and one walk and recorded one strikeout as he threw one inning of relief.

Offensivel­y, Hickman was 3 for 4 with two doubles and three runs scored. Haddon Fries and Mason Ellis both had one hit and two RBIs. Fries’ hit was a triple, while Edgar, Forgey, Bramlett and Moore each had one RBI apiece.

Aiden Crawford and Clayton

Young both had singles for the Warriors (1-4). Crawford pitched 2.2 innings, giving up four earned runs on seven hits with two walks and one strikeout. Darian Keefe threw two innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits and a walk while striking out three batters.

Trion 10, Gordon Lee 5

The Bulldogs belted four homeruns and doubled up the visiting Trojans in an NGAC contest last Tuesday.

Landon Norton went 2 for 3 for the Trojans. Jackson Scali had a hit and two RBIs. Ty Thompson doubled and knocked in a run, while Aiden Goodwin and Brock Crutchfiel­d each had one RBI.

Goodwin gave up five earned runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts in one inning of work. Dustin Day threw four innings of relief. He allowed five earned runs on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts before Scali struck out three batters in his one inning out of the bullpen.

East Hamilton 8, Gordon Lee 6

Down 6-0, the Trojans scored five times in the top of the fifth inning, but could not overtake the Hurricanes and eventually dropped a road decision in a non-league game on Wednesday.

Thompson and Day both had one hit with two RBIs for the Trojans (3-5). Thompson delivered a double, while Day launched a homerun. Garrett Ross had a

double with one RBI and Peyton Mullins also recorded a double.

Scali allowed two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout in two innings on the mound. Norton also pitched two innings. He gave up one earned run on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts, while Troy Phillips allowed two earned runs on one hit and seven walks in his two innings of work. Phillips fanned three batters.

Dalton 4, Heritage 1

The Generals and the Cougars both collected just three hits last Monday, but it would be the host team parlaying those three hits into four runs and picking up a win over the Generals at Heritage Point Park.

Maddox Henry, Owen Carstens and Lex Davey had singles for Heritage (61), while Brandon Greene recorded the team’s only RBI of the day.

Ty Hunt went four innings on the bump, allowing three earned runs on

three hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Greene pitched two hitless innings out of the bullpen, walking two and fanning five.

Gordon Lee (JV) 15, Lakeview (JV) 0

Grey Snyder and James Davis combined for a fourinning no-hitter as the junior varsity Trojans shut out the Warriors last Monday afternoon in Fort Oglethorpe.

Payton Groce and Braden Little both had two hits for the Trojans. Groce, Snyder, Brayden Stoker and Keyton Lockhart each knocked

in two runs, while Little, Colt Wood, Layne Vaughn, Brody Eaton, Gavin Johnson and Hurley McAllister had one RBI apiece.

Gordon Lee (JV) 6, Trion (JV) 0

The Trojans got two doubles and two RBIs from Snyder in a shutout victory over the Bulldogs last Tuesday.

Eaton and Vaughn each had one hit and one RBI. Lockhart knocked in a run and pitched two innings of one-hit ball. He gave up one walk and struck out three batters.
