PUBLIC NOTICE FOR MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE CITY OF CHICKAMAUGA

Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-132 and O.C.G.A. 21-2-9 (b) a municipal general election will be held for the City of Chickamauga on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the Chickamauga Civic Center located at 1817 Lee Clarkson Rd., Chickamauga, GA from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Qualifying for the municipal general election shall be held at the Chickamauga City Hall located at 103 Crittenden Ave, Chickamauga, GA 30707, Hours are 8:30 a.m.-12 noon and 1 pm-4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021, Tuesday August 17 and August 18, 2021.

*Three (3) Council Members are up for election the qualifying fee is $255.33.

*Two School Board Members are up for election qualifying fee is $18.

Early voting will take place at the Chickamauga Civic Center located at 1817 Lee Clarkson Rd., Chickamauga, GA beginning on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, and will end on Friday, October 29, 2021. Voting hours are:

Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday voting will be October 16, 2021, and October 23, 2021, from 9 am. until 5 p.m.

To request an absentee ballot by mail, contact the Walker County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office at 706-638-4349. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is October 22, 2021.

The last day to register to vote for the municipal general election is Monday, October 4, 2021.
