Mrs. Cordia Geneva Cochran Parker, 85, of Sylvania passed away at Syl-View Rehabilita­tion & Memory Care Center in the company of her three daughters. She was the daughter of Lee Darnell and Ida Ballinger Cochran. She was born and raised in Walker County, LaFayette, GA, where she was a member of the Gordon Lake Wesleyan Church and later attended Four Square Church. She was a retired textile worker and relocated to Screven County in 1983.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; Peggy Cummings, Joe Cochran, Mary C. Scheuermei­er, Rose C. Holbrook, and Gayle C. Medina, son-in-law, Warren David Smith II, and great grandson, Hudson Warren Smith.

She is survived by her daughters; Darlene P. (Brent) Shields of Rock Springs, GA, Sherry P. Smith of Sylvania, GA, and Karen D. (Robert) Creech of Ridgeland, SC, siblings; Mildred C. Baker, Charles (Nancy) Cochran, Ray (Richard) Cochran, all of LaFayette, GA, six grandchild­ren, eleven great-grandchild­ren, and two great-great-grandchild­ren. Graveside services will be held at the Screven County Memorial Cemetery on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 3:00pm. The family will receive friends at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Pallbearer­s will be Shane Shields, W.D. Smith III, Brian Creech, Brandon Archer, McKenzie Kelehear, Carlos Gomez, Alex Kelehear, Gray Payton, and Ian Gomez. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving and compassion­ate care extended to Mrs. Parker by the staff of Syl-View and the Ogeechee Area Hospice and Dr. Sherma Peter.
