Volleyball teams set to finish regular season this week

The Heritage Lady Generals won a marathon three-set match against Saddle Ridge last Monday, dropping the first set, 25-22, before a 25-16 victory in the second set. Extra points would be needed in the third set before Heritage won, 29-27.

Individual statistics for Heritage were not available.

Mary Alice Ertz finished with eight kills, seven digs, 14 assists and an ace for Saddle Ridge. Cheyenne Swanson collected 40 assists, 22 digs, four kills and two aces. Caydence Tinklepaug­h had 19 digs to go with three aces and two kills, while Jasmin Felipe added 16 digs and a kill.

Addison McNabb finished with 11 digs, three aces and one kill. Lanie Hamilton had eight digs, two aces and two kills and Kennedy McNabb recorded five digs and one ace. The rest of the stats for the Lady Mustangs included three blocks, three digs, two kills and one ace from Macee Casteel, two kills and a dig from Lexi Underwood, and one dig by Libby Kate Parnell.

Saddle Ridge took the win in the JV match, 25-15, 25-16, thanks to five aces, seven digs and two kills from Della Harris, and seven assists, four aces, four kills and one dig from Sophy Tinklepaug­h. Anabelle Penland had five digs, three aces and two kills, while Caylie Harrell threw down three kills.

Also contributi­ng in the win was L.C. Mullaly (four digs, three aces, one assist, one kill), Grace Gamel (two digs, two kills) and Campbell Crutcher (three aces, two kills).

Heritage 2, Dade 0

The Lady Generals made the home fans happy last Tuesday with a 25-20, 25-18 win over the Lady Wolverines.

Addy Kissner and Adalie Phillips had four aces each, while Kissner picked up a kill. Reece Oliver had three aces and a pair of kills, while Aireanna Williams had three kills and two digs.

Saddle Ridge 2, Rossville 0

Saddle Ridge picked up a 25-10, 25-12 home win over Rossville last Tuesday.

Felipe served up seven aces and had a dig for Saddle Ridge. Swanson had five aces, three digs and 14 assists. Ertz finished with five aces, six kills and four digs, while Caydence Tinklepaug­h had 11 digs, four kills and one ace.

Kennedy McNabb had three aces, Hamilton had two aces, while other contributo­rs included Underwood (one kill), Parnell (one dig), Peyton Heatherly (one kill), and Maggie Bowers (one kill, one assist).

Rossville got two aces and an assist from Kinsley Smith, a kill and two digs from Taylin Parkman and a kill and a dig from Shea Crowley. McKenzey Moore had two digs and Naomi Dawson recorded an ace.

The Lady Mustangs took the JV match, 253, 25-12, behind 11 aces and a kill from Penland and 13 aces, three assists, a kill and a dig from Mullaly. Harris recorded eight aces and a dig, while Sophy Tinklepaug­h had an ace and five assists.

Also getting on the stat sheet was Gamel (one ace, one kill), Crutcher (two kills, one dig), Serenity Hancock (three digs, one kill), and Anna Hambrick (one kill).

Individual stats for the JV Lady Bulldogs were not available as of press time.

Trion 2, Saddle Ridge 0

The Navy-and-Red’s varsity squad suffered a tough loss on Thursday, 25-22 and 25-18.

Swanson had 19 assists, 16 digs and seven kills for the Lady Mustangs (7-3). Ertz recorded 15 assists to go with five digs, two aces and two kills. Casteel picked up five kills, two aces, two blocks and one assist, while Hamilton added 11 digs and a pair of aces.

Caydence Tinklepaug­h finished with seven digs and a kill. Addison McNabb added four digs, three aces and two kills, while other contributo­rs included Felipe and Kennedy McNabb with three digs apiece and Underwood with one ace, one block, one dig and one kill.

The Saddle Ridge JV team scored a 25-11, 25-12 win as Mullaly racked up 10 aces, nine assists, two digs and one kill. Gamel finished with six kills, an ace and a block, and Harris had seven aces, four digs, two assists, and two kills.

Sophy Tinklepaug­h collected nine assists, three aces, two digs and two kills and Caylie Harrell had four kills. Penland finished with four digs, one ace and one kill, while Crutcher (one kill), Hambrick (one ace) and Hancock (one dig) rounded out the stats.

Gordon Lee 2, Chattanoog­a Valley 0

The Lady Trojans scored a 25-10, 25-11 home win over Chattanoog­a Valley in Chickamaug­a last Tuesday.

MiKayla Martin had seven aces among her 15 service points for the Lady Trojans. Kaci McDaniel had eight service points and two aces, while Kaighan Cassell added four service points, four kills and four aces. Emma Young finished with three aces, two kills and five service points, and Addison Cagle recorded three service points, three aces and two kills.

Georgia Mae Anderson had two kills and one service point for CVMS. Ella Camper finished with three service points. Jaiden Duran had one service point on an ace, while Tatum Myers had one point on serve.

The JV match also went the way of the home team, 25-7, 25-2.

McKinley Richie had 13 service points and 11 aces in the opening set. Delaney Hulgan had three service points and three aces, while Maddie Henson added one service point and one ace.

In the second set, Brooklyn Salmon led the way with 14 service points and seven aces, while Martin collected six aces on nine service points. Cora Gross and Jasmine Loveless each had a kill.

Duran had a service point for the Lady Eagles.

Gordon Lee 2, Lakeview 0

The Navy-and-White improved to 7-1 on the season after a 25-17, 25-22 win at Lakeview on Thursday.

Cassell had four aces, four kills and six service points in the victory. Cagle added three aces and two kills with eight service points, while Young had four aces as part of her eight service points. McDaniel finished with four service points and an ace. Reese Dillard had two service points on two aces with three kills, and Layla Templeton chipped in with a pair of service points.

Lakeview got nine service points and two kills from Alja Rizvic, six service points and four assists from McKinley Slatton, and six digs by Montana Noblitt.

In the JV match, the Lady Trojans claimed the victory, 25-12, 25-15, behind seven aces and 11 service points from Richie. Salmon had four aces as part of seven service points and Loveless had five aces among her six service points.

Martin finished with five service points, three aces and two kills. Hulgan had three service points, while Abbigail Poteet had four service points and two aces.

LuLu Parkhill and Alexis Sisson had five digs apiece for the Lady Warriors, while Ava Bedard picked up six digs and a kill.

Heritage 2, Chattanoog­a Valley 0

The Lady Eagles lost in straight sets on Thursday, 25-8 and 25-15.

Gracie Pierce had three service points for CVMS (2-6), all by ace. Camper and Zoey Fleming had two service points each with Camper adding an ace. Anderson recorded a kill and a block.

The Lady Eagles dropped the JV match by scores of 27-25 and 25-20 despite 10 service points and two aces from Duran. Eloise Evans had one ace on six service points, while Sky Cochran added three service points with two aces.

Individual statistics for Heritage (6-2) were not available as of press time.

LaFayette 2, Trion 0

The Orange-and-Black sent the Lady Bulldogs home with a 25-21, 25-23 loss last Tuesday as Scout Taylor collected three aces and four assists in the win. Gracie Rambo had two aces and one kill.

Ringgold 2, Lakeview 1

The Lady Tigers needed three sets before outlasting their rivals, 24-26, 25-9, 27-25, last Tuesday afternoon in Ringgold. Aleia Harris, Natalie Crane and Emaline Sink were named as standouts by head coach Annie O’Dell.

Slatton had 14 service points, eight kills and four digs for Lakeview. Noblitt picked up seven digs and Kynidie Gaffin had seven service points.

The Lady Warriors took the JV match in another three-setter, 25-20, 19-25, 15-13.

Arin Franks had four service points and three kills for Lakeview (3-5). Lily Stoker recorded five digs and Caydee Carroll had four digs.

Bailee Bowman led the Ringgold in digs, aces, and kills.

Ringgold 2, LaFayette 0

The Blue-and-White continued their winning ways with a 25-17, 25-15 victory at LaFayette on Wednesday.

Harris had 10 points on serve and was the team leader in digs. Crane served up three aces and added several assists, while Kayleigh Carpenter added four digs and five big kills to pace the offense.

Rambo had a serving percentage of 90 for LaFayette, who dropped to 2-4 overall with the loss.

The Lady Tigers won the JV match, 25-20, 25-16, behind eight service points from Lyla Watson and seven service points from Bowman, who also led the team in digs.

Individual statistics for the Lady Ramblers JV team were not provided as of press time.

Ringgold 2, Rossville 0

The Lady Tigers moved to 6-1 on the season with a 25-9, 25-14 win on Thursday. Individual statistics for Ringgold were not available as of press time.

Moore had two kills, an ace and a dig, while Smith collected two digs and one ace for the Lady Bulldogs (0-10). Dawson had one ace, Crowley picked up a block and Bailey Mincy added a dig.
