THURSDAY, DEC. 23

The city of LaFayette offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23 through Saturday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday. Thursday’s garbage route will be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 22, along with the regular Wednesday route. All city offices will also be closed Friday, Dec. 31, for the New Year’s holiday. The garbage route will be on normal schedule Dec. 27-30.

FRIDAY, DEC. 24

Walnut Grove Baptist Church, 55 Walnut Grove Road, LaFayette, invites the public to attend Christmas Eve services on Friday, Dec. 24, at 4:30 p.m. Bring the and neighbors for familiar Christmas carols, scripture, prayer and a short message. The service that evening will conclude with the glow of candleligh­t and singing of “Silent Night.”

SUNDAY, JAN. 2

The Obedience Club of Chattanoog­a’s next session of Obedience, Rally Obedience, Agility, Nosework, Canine Good Citizen, Conditioni­ng, Therapy Dog, and Freestyle classes for puppies and dogs will begin on Monday, Jan. 3. Sign up online or come to open house at 1:30 pm to register on Sunday, Jan. 2, and orientatio­n for classes from 2 p.m. to 2:45 pm. Bring your dog’s current shot records, including Bordetella. Please, no dogs at registrati­on/orientatio­n unless you plan to take the Canine Good Citizen Test and/or Trick Dog Test which each cost $15. Immediatel­y after orientatio­n there will be demonstrat­ions of obedience, rally obedience, and beginner agility (weather permitting) on the agility field, as well as the Canine Good Citizen Test and Trick Dog Test. Don’t forget to bring current shot records, including Bordetella, and $15 for each test.
