Proctor earns second GSC Player of the Week Award
For the second time this season, former Heritage High School All-State player Katie Proctor has been named a Gulf South Conference Softball Co-Player of the Week.
The league office announced the awards last Tuesday and Proctor was noted for her performances in a recent series against West Georgia.
The sophomore went 6 for 11 at the plate (.545) in the series with two doubles, one homerun, one run scored and six RBIs, while slugging at a 1.000 clip.
Proctor previously won the weekly award on March 1.
As of last Tuesday, she led Valdosta State with a .397 average to go with six doubles, five homeruns, 26 RBIs and a .685 slugging percentage, who began the week ranked No. 3 nationally in NCAA Division II.
9TH ANNUAL TROJAN RUN
The annual Trojan Run 5K event will be held this Saturday, April 23 in Chickamauga.
Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 6:30 a.m. on the football field at Gordon Lee High School, while the 5K chip-timed race will start at 8 a.m. Awards will follow the completion of the race.
Entry fee is $30 the day of the event. All proceeds will go to benefit the cross country and track and field teams at Gordon Lee.

BELL TO SPEAK AT FCA BANQUET
Former Ridgeland Panther, Ohio State Buckeye and current Cincinnati Bengals captain Vonn Bell will be the keynote speaker for the Lookout
Mountain FCA’s annual Home Team Banquet at Chattanooga’s open-air First Horizon Pavilion, across from Finley Stadium.
The event will be held on Friday, April 29. A silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 before the program starts at 7.
There will be All- Pro ($2,000), All-American ($1,000) and All-State ($500) levels of table sponsorship and souvenir program ads are available in a variety of prices and sizes.

RIDGELAND HALL OF FAME BANQUET
The Ridgeland High School Athletic Hall of Fame will host their third annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet on May 14, 2022. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at Ridgeland High School.
The banquet and ceremony will include dinner, induction of the third class of the Ridgeland Athletic Hall of Fame, and presentation of the Vonn Bell Athlete of the Year award. Bell, the award’s namesake, is slated to present the awards.

WEEKLY SENIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT
The LaFayette Golf Course is hosting weekly senior tournaments on Mondays to all players over the age of 50 years of age.
Players ages 50-59 will play from the white tees, 60-69 will play from the gold tees and those 70 and over will play from the red tees.
The first and third Monday of each month is a two-person scramble, while four-person scrambles will be held on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
