Gordon Lee golfers prep for NGAC’s with match win

Golf teams in the NGAC got one more look at the LaFayette layout last Monday as final matches were held at the golf course that will host the conference championships.

Playing the front nine, Gordon Lee held off three other opponents to win a four-team match.

The Trojans got a 47 from Hailey Talley as they turned in a team score of 205. Ty Davis shot a 52, while Camdyn Carter and Rob Ashley each posted scores of 53. Also playing for Gordon Lee was Miles Brock (60) and Anaston Cordell (62).

Saddle Ridge finished three shots behind at 208. They were led by Hayden Bowman, the day’s low medalist, who fired a 45. L.C. Mullaly (50), Miles Eldridge (53) and Wyatt Smith (60) rounded out the team score for the Mustangs. Easton Stephens and Jude Roerdink each shot 62 for Saddle Ridge.

Third-place Dade got a 47 from Mason Weathers as the Wolverines finished at 214.

Ringgold finished fourth at 239 and was led by 59’s from Jex Wilson and Lyla Watson. Camdyn Mason fired a 60 and Brennan Callahan had a 61, while Scotty Searcy shot 62 for the Tigers.

HERITAGE DEFEATS DALTON

The Heritage Generals made the drive into Whitfield County last Tuesday and posted a 200-207 victory over Dalton at Nob North Golf Club.

Nicolas Anchondo had a 46 for Heritage, followed by a 48 from Mason Davis, 52 by Taylor Bunn and a 54 by Remy Pastuch. Nathaniel Johnson (58) and Jace Allen (60) also played for the Generals.

DAVIS SHINES AT BROWN ACRES

A very nice round of 38 by Davis helped send the Generals to a 186-224 win over Saddle Ridge in a nine-hole match at Brown Acres Golf Course in Chattanooga on Thursday afternoon.

Bunn and Anchondo each had a 48 for the Generals, followed by a 62 from Pastuch.

Bowman led the Mustangs with a 48 and Mullaly carded a 53, while Eldridge (60) and Roerdink (62) also played for Saddle Ridge.

The NGAC tournament will be played at the LaFayette Golf Course on May 3.
