LFO squads stay atop region standings

It was business as usual for the LFO Lady Warriors last week as they stayed unbeaten and atop the Region 6-3A standings, while the Warriors also maintained a perfect record in region play after winning once at home and once on the road.

LFO GIRLS 74, GORDON LEE 15

The No. 4-ranked Lady Warriors hit 12 3-pointers as a team and rolled through Chickamaug­a last Tuesday night.

Christen Collins had six of the 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 21 points. Christina Collins went for 18 and Angel Simmons had 14 in the victory.

Presley Piatt scored five points and iara Thompson added four. Heidi Johnson, Christina Gass and Mercedes Thompson scored three points apiece. Mylee Howard added two and oey Gray-Martin finished with one.

LFO GIRLS 78, BREMEN 67

The Lady Warriors got 26

points from Simmons as they held off their guests to keep their record spotless. The senior knocked down five 3-pointers on the night, while Christen Collins had three 3-pointers as part of her 15 points. Christina Collins added 19 to give LFO three players in double figures.

iara Thompson scored six points. Gray-Martin had five and Mercedes Thompson added

three. Two points each from Howard and Trinity Heinrich completed the scoring for the home team.

LFO BOYS 65, GORDON LEE 50

Tuesday’s nightcap was a tight one through three quarters. The two teams were deadlocked at 14 after the first quarter and tied 34-34 at halftime before the Warriors forged a 45-43 lead going into the fourth.

However, LFO opened the final period of play on a 10-2 run to take a 10-point lead with 3:20 remaining and held the Trojans to just seven total points in the final eight minutes to pull away for the win.

Brent Bowman knocked down four 3-pointers and went 7 of 11 at the free throw line to lead the Warriors with 31 points. Amari Burnett finished with 16 and Jayden Dover added 10.

The remainder of the scoring included four points from Tyler Davis and two each from Jared Mitchell and Bryce Brock.

LFO BOYS 64, BREMEN 39

The second varsity game on Friday saw the Warriors roll out to a 26-3 lead after the first quarter and take a 62-24 cushion into the fourth before coasting to the victory.

Dover scored 14 points, followed by 10 from Burnett, nine from Bowman, seven by Mitchell and six by Davis.

Brock and Darian eefe each scored five points. Jackson Flanagan and Sebastian Nelson had three each, while

yan Eastman capped the scoring with two.
