HERITAGE 5-STARS COMPETITION DANCE TEAM
: “For several seasons in the past, we have competed in the pom category. However, this season we are moving into the category of jazz. Our competition team consists of very talented, technicallytrained jazz dancers, so we hope this will be a good move for them.
“We also hope it will offer them the chance to spotlight some of their individual skills, while providing them with new, exciting opportunities in a new division during our competition season.”
Is there a central theme to your routine this season and how difficult will the routine be?
ee : “Our competition routine this season is unlike anything that our team has competed with since dance became a sanctioned sport. This will be a new division for us, which is exciting, but also challenging in itself. It is giving us an opportunity to grow as a program and show that our dancers are well-rounded and are capable of competing in multiple divisions.”
What is the key or keys to your season?
ee : “This season we have a 5-Star alum leading our competition team and that has been such a gift! Hailey Thompson is our 5-Star competition coach, and she graduated from HHS in 2017. Hailey was a 5-Star dancer all four of her years at Heritage and danced for the UTC Sugar Mocs after graduation. Her leadership and experience, along with the work ethic and positive attitudes of our seniors, and the overall talent of our team, will all be keys to the success of our season. We can’t wait to see what these girls accomplish this year.”
