Mat squads close out dual season

The Ringgold Middle School Tigers picked up two dual match victories last Tuesday, defeating Rossville, 53-27, and beating LaFayette, 51-29.

Landon Haddock 78 pounds , Gavin Allerding 94 , Santana Hagery 130 , Wil Davis 140 , Dustin Black 165 , Jeremiah Frost 180 and Ethyn Jones HWT won by pin. Cason Craig 72 won his match by forfeit, while Robert Alexander 100 and Adam Gann 220 both won by decision. The Tigers also lost one team point on a penalty.

Against LaFayette, Haddock 78 , Braylon Higdon 86 , Alexander 100 , Gavin Hardin 123 and Frost 165 won by pin. Craig 72 , Eli McGuire 150 and Black 180 earned wins by forfeit.

Individual winners for the Bulldogs and the Ramblers were not available as of press time and no details from the match between Rossville and LaFayette had been reported.

GORDON LEE DOUBLES UP

Last Tuesday in Trion, the Gordon Lee Trojans scored impressive wins over Dade, 70-13, and Trion, 51-30.

Against the Wolverines, pins were scored by Cooper Saine 72 pounds , Hunter Stevens 94 , Carson Alexander 100 , Dino Selimajic 130 , Will Slatton 150 , Corbin Hudson 165 and Brayden Stoker 220 , while Landon Williams 86 , Jenz Martin 123 , Michael Hyde 180 and Cody Pagleno

HWT won by forfeit. Ty Davis 115 also picked up a 4-point major decision.

The nightcap featured pins from Saine 72 , Jack French 78 , Williams 86 , Alexander 100 , Brody Eaton 108 , Martin 123 and Luke Teeters 140 . Hampton Martin 180 won his match by forfeit, while Hudson 165 earned a 3-point minor decision.

SADDLE RIDGE BEATS LAKEVIEW

The Mustangs welcomed in the Warriors for a dual match last Tuesday and handed the visitors a 47-30 setback.

After a double forfeit at 72 pounds, Lakeview took the lead on a pin by Tallon Goodine

78 . However, Saddle Ridge would win six of the next seven matches.

Bentley Wilson 86 won by decision and Collin Miller 94 earned a technical fall. Luke Cannington 100 also won by decision, while Gabriel Thacker 115 , Wyatt Eldridge 123 and Isaac Hamilton 130 all won by pin. The only win by Lakeview in that span was a pin by Jeb Watkins 108 .

Alex Murdock got six more points for the Warriors with a pin at 140 and the two teams each recorded a pair of pins during the next four matches. Saddle Ridge’s pins came from A.J. Moyer 150 and Josiah Womack 220 , while Lakeview’s pins were scored by Jonas Watkins 165 and James Scoggins 180 .

Logan Wooten HWT got a final forfeit for the Mustangs to end the varsity portion of the night.

HERITAGE WINS AT HOME

Less than 48 hours before the start of the league duals, Heritage and Saddle Ridge faced off in one final tune-up and it was the Generals picking up the victory in Boynton, 67-18.

Fisher Rhodes 78 pounds , ayden Watson 100 , Jonathan Arehart 108 , Billy Hamilton 123 , Trey Wilson 150 , Luke Jones

165 , Dawson Ingle 180 , Elijah Hughes 220 and Hunter Baker HWT all won by pin for the Generals. Boston Chandler 94 won by technical fall. Wyatt Womack 86 earned a decision, and Mason Boyd 72 won his match by forfeit.
