Sign-ups wrapping up for local golf tournament­s

The 87th annual Chicken Dinner Golf Tournament will be held at the LaFayette Golf Course on June 10-11. Entry fee for the 36-hole, two-day event will be $125 for course members and $150 for non-members.

Fees will include golf and a cart for both days, range balls and the traditiona­l chicken dinner. That dinner will only be served on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Players should call 706-639-1580 for Saturday tee times. Sunday tee times will be based on Saturday’s scores.

SIMS MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The annual Jeff Sims Memorial Golf Tournament, presented by Heritage High School, is scheduled for Monday, June 12 at WindStone Golf Club in Ringgold.

Registrati­on will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 12 noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The four-person select shot tournament will cost $100 per player and is limited to 20 teams. The entry deadline will be June 5 or until 20 teams have registered.

There will be prizes for the top three teams, along with longest drive, closest to the pin and putting contests. Hole sponsorshi­ps are also available for $100 each.

HONEYCUTT WORLD SERIES

The 2023 Rick Honeycutt World Series will be held at the Fort Oglethorpe Recreation Associatio­n fields on July 15-19.

There will be two separate divisions, a 6U-12U rec division and a 6U-14U select division. There will be rings for champions and runner-ups in each division and banners for championsh­ip teams in each division.
