Ensconced in the cart, the newlyweds were given a ride through many thoroughfares, while their friends proclaimed the fact of their entrance to the ranks of the united ones in a joyous manner. Only open since July, the Frazier Chocolate Factory and the Apple Bakery have become must stops on the itinerary of anyone who is traveling US 33 east of Wapakoneta. The shops join the popular Parlette’s Ice Cream Parlor, the Apple Barn, and the Apple House at Maple Lane Farm. Wendell and Ruth Frazier, owners of the chocolate shop and bakery, held their official grand opening and ribbon cutting last week. “I think it’s a nice place for people to come who are traveling through,” Wendell said. “We have something to offer that you can’t find within 100 miles.” They have showcases full of homemade fudge ad a variety of other hard and soft candies…. The Apple Bakery’s specialty is hearty breads, especially sourdough….the bakery also cranks out pies. “We baked 90 pies yesterday,” Wendell said, “and we’ll probably make some more tomorrow.”
