Foundation announces fall grant recipients

The Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation has completed the second of two grant cycles scheduled for 2020.

Ten area programs and services that support Wapakoneta and Auglaize County were awarded grants this fall, totaling $ 26,000.

The Foundation hopes that projects funded will be able to be completed as scheduled, but understand that due to the COVID19 pandemic, other issues may need to be addressed prior to the grant projects going forward.

The WACF grant program distribute­s grants for charitable purposes in the areas of health, economic developmen­t, basic human needs, education, cultural activities, environmen­t, and community services.

The 2020 fall grant award include:

* Mercer/ Auglaize/ Van Wert Youth Mentoring, to assist funding the Lunch Club at Wapakoneta schools, $ 1,500;

* St. Paul United Church of Christ Summer

Lunch Program, adult meal and weekend bag expenses, $ 2,500.00;

* Riverside Art Center, assist with expenses of 4th quarter classes and events, $ 1,000;

* Lima Symphony Orchestra, assist with expenses of Young People’s Concert, $ 2,500.00;

* Children’s Hometown Holiday, assist with 2020 holiday program expenses, $ 6,000;

* Auglaize County Humane Society, assist with expenses of feeding and sheltering animals and veterinari­an expenses, $ 1,000;

* Ronald Mcdonald House, assist with expenses of hosting local families, $ 3,500;

* Downtown Wapakoneta Partnershi­p, assist with façade projects, $ 1,000;

* Wapakoneta Area Ministeria­l Associatio­n, Servants Day expenses, $ 1,000;

* Armstrong Air & Space Museum Associatio­n, updating of digital equipment, $ 6,000.

The 2021 First Round Grant Applicatio­ns will be available online Nov. 1, 2020 through Nov. 30, 2020. The foundation website can be found at: wapakacf.org
