Custom Staffing reopens to help job seekers

- By ALEX GUERRERO STAFF WRITER

Sadi Spradlin is a recruiter for the Wapakoneta branch of Custom Staffing, an employment agency that tries to connect workers with jobs. After roughly a month- long closure, the office held a re- opening on Monday at its Auglaize Street office.

She also has some advice.

"Don't give up," Spradlin said. "The positions are out there. Right away, you might take something that is not the ideal position that you weren't necessarily looking for, but once you get into the facilities you can move into those positions."

Spradlin emphasized the point that even though things are different since pre- pandemic times, jobs are still there.

"A lot of the jobs are actually increasing their pay rates, so some of that is changing and it's becoming a little bit better," Spradlin said.

But there may be a catch to working for certain employers.

"There are the other requirements that some people aren't really comfortable with, such as the masks and things, so I think it is kind of changing a little bit," she added.

According to Spradlin, while working- from

- home has become more popular for some industries - including office and clerical work - the manufacturing industry wants employees back in the building.

"With everything opening back up a lot of places are really booming with needing employees that are able to report in- person,” Spradlin added.

So how should job- seekers go about working with Custom Staffing?

Spradlin said the first step is filling out an online application through my custom-staffing. com. After that, Spradlin and her team will take care of things.

After an interview, Custom Staffing will break down what employees and employers are looking for, including work environments, pay rates, shifts and work speed. Then, Spradlin will discuss open positions that match what candidates are looking for.

Above all else, Spradlin wants to help.

"We're here to help," she said. "We definitely want to get people working again, and I know that it's really hard right now, especially with a lot of remote learning... even if we don't have anything right away, just come in and talk to me. I will definitely keep my eyes out for everyone."
