Trojans remain unbeaten with victory over Minster

BOTKINS — The Botkins boys continued their strong start to the 2020- 21 season, as they handed visiting Minster its first loss on Tuesday night. The Trojans won by four points, 56- 52.

Botkins improves to 4- 0 on the year, while Minster is now 2- 1.

Jacob Pleiman led the offense for the Trojans with 31 points. Jayden Priddy had 14 and Carter Pleiman scored eight.

For the Wildcats, Justin Nixon had 16 and Johnny Nixon scored 15. Brady Hoelscher added 11.

Minster had a twopoint edge, 10- 8 in the opening quarter. The second frame saw both offenses go full speed ahead, with Botkins racking up 24 points to Minster’s 20. At the break, Botkins led 32- 30.

Things slowed down in the third, with just eight points for Minster and Botkins held to four. That put the visitors in front, 38- 36.

But the Trojans would protect their house with a six- point advantage in the final eight minutes, scoring 20 points to get the win.

Botkins ( 2- 0 SCAL, 4- 0 overall) will be back in action on Friday night when they visit Fort Loramie.
