Mary T. Schumann, 76

Mary T. Schumann, 76, of Wapakoneta, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at her residence. She was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Lima, OH, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Pohlman) Berres, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include five children, Lori (Dave) Anderson, Dayton, OH, Tonya (Rick) Lenhart, Wapakoneta, Kim (Mike) Fisher, Wapakoneta, Trudy Schumann, Temecula, CA, Wendy (Joe) Fuduric, Shawnee, OH; 14 grandchild­ren, Nathan

(Kristy) Fisher, Cody (Lexi) Salsbury, Collin (Courtney) Lenhart, Kalie Lenhart, Kyle Lenhart, Keaton Lenhart, Austin Fisher, Travis Fisher, Michaelia Fisher, Logan Netter, Jordan (Ashley) Netter, Marina Fuduric, Lucia Fuduric, Nadia Fuduric; four great-grandchild­ren; two step-daughters, Denise (Mike) Place, Darla (Keith) Krites; four sisters, Jane (Richard) Scheblo, Wapakoneta, Rita (Dan) Heitkamp, Wapakoneta, Dorothy (Dan) Brown, Wapakoneta, Barbara (Allen) Carter, Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Fisher.

Mary was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph High School, and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. She retired with the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier in Maria Stein and Wapakoneta and also worked for 10 years at the ASCS office. Mary was a lifelong farmer and was co-owner of the Circle S Egg Farm. She was a 4-H advisor with the Propects 4-H club for over 20 years. She volunteere­d at St. Joseph Church and took joy working at annual parish festival cake wheel and the cafeteria at St. Charles Elementary School, Lima. She was a faithful blood donor with the American Red Cross. She was also a dedicated volunteer with the local election board.

Mary was a loving mother and devoted grandmothe­r who adored watching all of her grandchild­ren’s sports: football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, dance, track, swim, cross-country, and tennis, and hog showing at the fair. She also really enjoyed hosting family ping pong tournament­s at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, Rev. Jedidiah Tritle officiatin­g. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Friday at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
