ACHD updates statistics as state prepares to air town hall meetings

As the state of Ohio readies for town hall meetings designed to answer questions about the coronaviru­s vaccine, Auglaize County Health Department officials have announced there were 12 new cases of COVID-19 reported between noon Friday and noon Monday.

That brings the county’s total to 4,488 cases — 3,378 confirmed and 1,110 probable. The ACHD is reporting there have been 172 hospitaliz­ations attributed to the virus and 59 deaths. More than 4,000 people are presumed recovered from COVID.

Cases totaling 1,639 were reported in Wapakoneta, followed by 1,295 in St. Marys. In the villages, the case numbers reported are Minster 454, New Bremen 433, Cridersvil­le 242, Waynesfiel­d 165, New Knoxville 139, Uniopolis 14, St. Johns 7, New Hampshire 8, and Buckland 12.

The Ohio Department of Health has invited medical experts, community leaders, and public health profession­als to answer your COVID-19 vaccine questionsd­uring a series of townhall-style meetings. The schedule and specific topics include:

• Monday, March 1, 6:30 p.m. – Asian American and Pacific Islander Ohioans
