The Ohio High School Athletic Association’s postseason basketball is in full swing, and three area teams are still dancing their way toward a potential state title.

The Wapakoneta boys (13-9) collected a win in the Divison II sectionals over fellow Western Buckeye League member Celina, with a seven-point margin of victory, 3730.

That puts the Redskins in a sectional final against #2 seed Wauseon.

The Indians are members of the Northwest Ohio Athletic League. They are 17-4 overall, and went 6-1 in league play, finishing second behind Archbold.

They had won six straight games before losing to Archbold 5237 in the regular season finale last Friday.

They received a first-round bye.

The winner of the contest will move to the district semifinals. They will face the victor between #3 St. Marys and #6 Napoleon.

The top half of the bracket will see Elida take on top seed Shawnee and #7 Van Wert travel to #4 Defiance.

The district semis are set for March 3 at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at Spencerville, followed by the district final on March 6. ———

The Botkins boys finished the regular season at 19-3 and shared the Shelby

County League title with Anna at 10-2.

The Trojans took on Bradford last Friday in their first playoff contest. The Railroaders put up a fight, but Botkins eventually took the win by a count of 63-45.

On Tuesday, Botkins faced Houston, who they had beaten twice in the regular season. There was no problems the third time around, as Botkins rolled to a 70-28 win. Jayden Priddy nearly outscored the Wildcats by himself, finishing with 24 points.

On Friday, Botkins goes up against Fort Loramie in a district semifinal. The teams split the regular season meetings, with Botkins winning the first 44-37 in overtime and the Redskins taking round two, 49-40.

The game will be played at Piqua with a 5 p.m. start.

The other semifinal will be at Taylor HS between Ripleyunion-lewis-huntington and Fayetteville-perry.

The district final is March 6.
