Lawrence R. Vehorn, 70
Lawrence R. ‘Larry’ Vehorn, 70, of Anna, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s, Medical Center, Lima.
He was born July 10, 1950, in Sidney, OH, the son of Herbert and Madonna (Miller) Vehorn. His mother survives in Botkins and his father is deceased. He was formerly married to Ann Vehorn and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lynnette (Brian) Hahn, Lima, OH, Laura (Robert) Martin, Toledo, OH; seven grandchildren, Evelyn, Ellie, Emma, Jacob, and Elaina Hahn, Madelyn and Lucas Martin; five siblings, Tom (Kay) Vehorn, Wapakoneta, Ed (Lyn) Vehorn, Reno, NV, Ernie (Teri) Vehorn, Botkins, Fred (Jane) Vehorn, Botkins, Mary (Gary) Sweigart, Lima; numerous nieces; and nephews.
Larry, a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, was a jack of all trades. He was a meat cutter, worked in the construction industry, and was retired from the Honda Corporation. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Mccartyville, and a 1968 graduate of Botkins High School.
Larry was an avid Browns Fan, loved Gunsmoke, enjoyed fishing and going on camping trips with his children and grandchildren, where he could be found under a shade tree in his favorite chair enjoying a cold beer. He loved being with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events and activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Mccartyville, OH, Fr. Steve Mondiek officiating. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins, OH. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Monday at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and 9- 10 a.m., Tuesday at the church.
Honoring Larry’s spirit of comfort, the family asks that everyone attending the viewing dress comfortably or in their favorite Brown attire.
