Velma L. Zwiebel, 87

Velma Lucille Zwiebel, 87, of rural Wapakoneta, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, March 15, 2021, at 8:35 p.m., at home.

She was born April 1, 1933, in Clay Township, Auglaize County, the youngest daughter of Gust Frederick Adam and Barbara Elizabeth (Klopfenste­in) Helmlinger, who preceded her in death. On August 14, 1955, she married Ivan E. Zwiebel who passed away June 22, 2017.

She is survived by her children, Gustave A. Zwiebel, Craig I. (Vicki) Zwiebel both of Wapakoneta, and Christina E. (Fred) Bodenmille­r of Jackson Center; grandchild­ren, Colin (Meghan) Zwiebel of Ft. Wayne, IN, Tanner Zwiebel and Keaton Zwiebel both of Wapakoneta, Tiffany (Alex) Miller of Stuttgart, Germany, Stefanie (Amir) Amiruzzama­n of Kent, OH, and Seth (Logan) Bodenmille­r of Degraff; great-grandchild­ren, Boden Miller, Aleo Amiruzzama­n, and Penelope Bodenmille­r; sister, Bernice Ruck of Avon, OH; brother-in-law, Marvin (Jeannine) Zwiebel, of Ft. Myers, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Ethel (Roger) Elsass; brother-in-law, Nelson Ruck; and brother and sister-in-law, Roger (Clea Anna) Helmlinger.

Velma graduated from Blume High School in 1951 and Capital University in 1953. She was a homemaker who worked in her early years at G.A. Wintzer and Son Co. and was the church’s secretary for many years.

Velma was a founding member of Christ The King Church, Jackson Center. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed her children, grandchild­ren, and greatgrand­children. Velma dearly loved the Lord, and all who loved Velma will truly miss her.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Christ The King Church with Pastor James Maxwell officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson.

Friends may call from 4– 8 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2021, at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
