The Dance Centre’ Kicks off their Dance Competitio­n Season!

The Dance Centre’ Competitio­n Teams started off their season in Ft. Wayne, IN at the In10sity competitio­n in February. The youngest Jazz group “Off to see the Wizard” took home the Excellence in Entertainm­ent award, Platinum and 1st place overall. The Mini Jazz group “Girl in the Mirror” received a High Gold. The Junior Elite Jazz group “Tainted Love” received Platinum and 1st place. The large Jazz Production group “Rhapsody received a Platinum and 1st place in their category.

The judges chose “Love Runs Out” the Senior Tap group for their Judges Teen Award and the In10se Award with a $250 prize. They also received Platinum and 1st place overall.

The Junior Hip Hop group “Boom Shake the Room” received at Platinum rating and 1st place. “Taki Taki” the Senior Hip Hop group received a High Gold rating.

The Teen Lyrical group “Salvation” was awarded the In10se Award with a $250 prize. They also received a Platinum rating and 1st place. The two Senior Elite Lyrical groups “You Don’t Own Me” and “Color Me In” both receive a Platinum rating.

The Junior Tumbling group “Rescue Me” received a High Gold and 1st place. The Senior Tumbling group “TROUBLE” received a Platinum.

The Duet of Madison Wendel and Dylan Snyder competed a contempora­ry routine “Fix You” and received a Platinum and 5th place overall. Dylan Snyder performed a contempora­ry solo “The Rapture” and received a Platinum rating. Avery Place performed a Lyrical solo to “Black and Gold” and received a High Gold. Adyson Krouse performed a contempora­ry solo “Dark Side” and received a High Gold and placed 4th.

All of our Soloist and Trio competed at the Cathy Roe Competitio­n last month in Ft. Wayne, IN. Avery Place received a Superior rating. Adyson Krouse received a Superior rating, 7th overall and Supreme Teen Judges award for her solo “Dark Side”. Dylan Snyder received an Ultimate Elite rating and 3rd Overall.

The Duet with Madison Wendel & Dylan Snyder received an Ultimate Elite rating and 3rd place overall.

The Dance Competitio­n teams competed March 12 at Nexstar National Talent Competitio­n in Toledo at the Strannahan Theater.

The Jazz Production group “Rhapsody” won the WOW award. This award gives them a free entry to Nationals. Rhapsody also won the Excellence in Entertainm­ent award and a Golden Ticket. The Golden Ticket gives them an invitation to World Dance Championsh­ip in New Jersey. This is the ultimate competitio­n where the best of the best are invited to compete against each other for the title of World Dance Champion. Rhapsody also received Platinum and 4th place overall. The routine “Girl In The Mirror” Mini Jazz routine received a High Gold, 5th place overall and a judges award Cutie Patooties. The routine “Off to see the Wizard” received a Platinum and 3rd place overall and a Gold Ticket Award. The Junior Jazz group “Tainted Love” received a High Gold rating.

The Tumbling group “Rescue Me” received High Gold, 1st place overall and a Golden Ticket Award with the opportunit­y to dance at the World Dance Championsh­ip in New Jersey. The Senior Tumbling Group “Trouble” received a Platinum rating, 5th place and a judge’s award for Flip Flop Fly.

The Senior Tap group “Love Runs Out” received a Platinum and 4th place overall.

The Senior Elite Lyrical group “You Don’t Own Me” received a Platinum award and 9th place overall. Michele Wolke won best Choreograp­hy award for this routine You Don’t Own Me. The lyrical group “Color Me In” and “Salvation” both received a Platinum rating.

The Hip-hop Junior Group “Boom Shake the Room” received a High Gold rating, 5th overall in their category and a special judges award You’ve Got Swag. The Senior Hip Hop group received a High Gold rating and 6th overall in the category.

The Dance Centre’ is excited to compete one more time next month in Columbus, OH at World Class Talent. Congratula­tions and good luck to all their members:
