Shelva Joann Sheets Doty Gilroy, 65
Shelva Joann Sheets Doty Gilroy, 65, of Waynesfield, went home to her Lord and Savior at 9:34 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born on October 16, 1955 in Lima, OH to Charles and Joann (Smith) Sheets. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Waynesfield. On May 2, 1988 she married Joe D. Gilroy and he survives in Waynesfield.
Survivors include four sons: Shawn (Amanda) Doty, Ken (Donna) Gilroy, Kevin (Rach) Gilroy and Matt (Jennie) Gilroy; two daughters Kara (Mike) Springer and Margie Murphy (Gary) Miller; 17 grandchildren: Ryan (Addi) Murphy, Jake Miller, Zach (Ashley) Gilroy, Zane Gilroy, Ashley (Ben) Krouskop, Jordan Murphy, Zach Miller, Allison (Carlos) Rodriguez, Dani (Tyler Dunlap) Miller, Halie (Derek) Howard, Alexis (Kyle Marquis) Gilroy, Amanda (Nick Schroeder) Gilroy, Maddison Springer, Teylan Gilroy, Cohl Springer, Malayla Gilroy, and Cash Doty; seven great-grandchildren: Aedan Murphy, Makenna Gilroy, Avery Murphy, Rory Krouskop, Conor Dunlap and two on the way; a brother, Charles Dennis (Kim) Sheets; a sister, Jeanie (Bob) Waitman; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; three brothers-in-law Gary (Judy) Gilroy, John (Jean) Gilroy and Fred (Diane) Gilroy.
Shelva joined her loved ones who had gone before her: two granddaughters Trinity Lhamon Doty and Keelin Doty and a brother-in-law Larry Gilroy.
Shelva was a 1974 graduate of Waynesfield-goshen High School and attended Apollo Adult classes where she studied secretarial courses.
She was a member of Waynesfield Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing and producing programs for the children’s choir. She and her husband co-owned and operated Gofast MCM Inc., Elida where they produced machine components. She enjoyed quilting, fishing and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Waynesfield Baptist Church with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield.
Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Epilepsy Foundation.
