It is possible Auglaize County may be represented in big league baseball next year if the aspirations of a strapping big Minster boy by the name
of Ralph Poeppelman are realized. Peppy, as he is called by his relatives, has been going great guns for the Minster Eagles this season, putting down
some of the best teams with comparative ease. He was first sought by Brosnahan of the Toledo Mud Hens, but lost out in that deal. He went to Cincinnati the week before last and had a conference with Pat Moran, manager of the Reds. He received very much encouragement from the league leader, and it is entirely likely that he will take care of his
case when the season of 1922 opens and that he will be placed where he will have the advantage of expert coaching. Poeppel is a big husky lad who
has a world of smoke and a fine hook on the ball He has been pitching amazing ball since the age of sixteen or thereabouts ad is now about 20 years of age. He was a big winner in the Lima Industrial league last season, burling the Deisel-wemmer team to the city industrial championship.
Gus Wissman and Ed. Bambauer, Lock Two resident, were in a Ford sedan which was struck at
a crossing a short distance east of Moulton by the Western Ohio car in charge of Tob Drexler, motorman, and William Minton, conductor, due in Wapakoneta at 2 pm. Mr. Bambauer had his faced
scratched when thrown forward by the impact and he suffered a wrench in his back. The other gentleman was not injured. They were brought here in the car and Mr. Bambauer attended a local
surgeon’s office. The Ford was going westward and was about to turn southward on a road leading to New Knoxville when the accident occurred. The men in the auto did not see the approaching
train car because of rain, the carmen declare. The gentlemen were taken to their homes in the auto
of the Heller & Bowsher hardware store, driven by Joe Hemmert.
