Auto detailing business planning a grand opening event on Friday
Looking for somewhere local to get your car detailed?
Look no further than Xtreme Auto Detailing, which is having their grand-opening this Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The shop is located at 912 N. Dixie Hwy.
“We do full interior and exterior detailing,” owner Jeremy Saam said.
His goal is to make cars look like they just left the show room. That includes sweeping and shampooing the insides, conditioning leather seats, dressing, polishing, waxing, clay barring, buffing, wet-sanding, sealing and ceramic coating. Saam and his part-time employ at Xtreme also de-greases the hood, wash it and put coating on it.
Saam has been around cars his whole life.
“My dad was a big mechanic, used to race,” he said.
Saam’s brother Alex owns Northwest Body and Paint in Lima.
“I just fell into cleaning cars,” he said. “When I was younger, my dad taught me that if it wasn’t done right you’d do it over again until it’s right.”
Before opening Xtreme, he worked as a detailer for American Chevrolet Buick GMC in town.
He specifically wanted the shop in Wapakoneta for two reasons: growth in the area and the fact there wasn’t a detail shop here.
“I just wanted to be my own owner and do something good for the community,” he said.
To do that, he approached the Wapakoneta Area Chamber of Commerce, who recommended the grand-opening.
Brown’s Concessions food truck will be on-hand at 9:30 a.m. serving breakfast all day. Other refreshments include soda and water, and Saam is optimistic he’ll get the coffee-maker up and running for the event.
There will be a 50-50 raffle, with half of the money going to Auglaize County Humane Society.
Saam described himself as an animal lover.
“I see posts from them where they take donations,… and there are so many animals out there that need help,” he said.
He’ll also raffle off free car washes and details.
Despite opening last week, Saam said the company - currently himself and a part-time worker - has been busy. Xtreme Auto Detailing is open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. M-F, 8 a.m.
