Area couple celebrating 50th anniversary
Les and Karen Fogt of Anna are celebrating their 50th wedding today, Nov. 13, with a private celebration at the Do Good Restaurant in Osgood.
The couple also celebrated with a family trip to Gatlinburg, TN in August.
Les Fogt and the former Karen Dietz were married at Immaculate Conception Church in Botkins by the Rev. Robert J.C. Bastian on a sunny and warm autumn day.
Their rehearsal party was held at the Wooden Shoe in Minster. The couple honeymooned at Disney World in Florida and were there for the grand opening of the park.
The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Debra (Dietz) Muskus; the best man was the groom’s brother, Larry Fogt.
Other members of the bridal party were Joan (Dietz) Spence, Nancy (Dietz) King, Jane (Fogt) Lazier, Mary Jane Sollmann, Diane Aufderhaar, Michael Dietz, Barry Muskus, Captain Thomas Westerman, David Zepernick and Raymond Lazier.
Parents of the bride are Eugene and Mary Louise Dietz of
Botkins; both are deceased. The groom’s parents are
George and Elfrieda Fogt of Kettlersville; they are also deceased.
The couple have two children:
Kendra Fogt of Kettlersville and Eric (Melissa) Fogt. They have four grandchildren: Weslee, Ayva, Morgan and Aubrey.
Karen worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in May 2018. Less was
employed with Emerson Electric for 45 years; he retired in July 2015.
The couple enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and watching their sporting
events, as well as being with friends and family. They also travel and have visited all 50 states, and especially enjoy spending time together.
