⬛ MM Carl D. Fischer, Jr., were host and hostess to a most pleasant reception and concert at their home 718 West Auglaize Street, November 30, which was given by the original 15 members of the Euterpean Club to their lately expanded organization of 50 new members. The husbands of the members were entertained as guests, and in total there were about 70 people in attendance. In the receiving line were: president Mrs. Fischer; vice president Mrs. C.L. Mueller; secretary-treasurer Mrs. John Miller; assistant secretary-treasurer Miss Evon Miller; the Misses Anna and Emma Kayser, chairmen of the piano and violin departments; Mrs. Harry Nagel, chairman of chamber music; Mrs. Harry Shannon, chairman of the drama; Mrs. R.D. Macdonald, chairman of the altruistic department; Mrs. W.T. Copeland, member of the executive board; Mrs. Oscar Langhorst, chairman of the arrangement committee; and Mrs. C.F. Weiher, chairman of the program committee. The musical was one of the most pleasant affairs that have
been given in Wapakoneta and certainly displayed the excellent talent the Euterpean Club possesses. The splendid purpose for which this
club stands cannot be too highly commended for its encouragement of the best that is in local talent for our own community good.

⬛ When Jim Black, Superior Tube manager, was in the home office in Norristown, Pennsylvania, recently, a tall mustached, heavy-haired young man came up to him and said hello. Jim
looked up, but no light bulb went on. A blank. The young man then introduced himself. It was Fritz Kuck, former WHS tennis ace and now
an engineer with North American Aviation in California. He was in Norristown observing operations in Superior Tube’s plant. He sent his
best wishes to his Wapakoneta friends, even to Frank Zimmerman, his tennis coach here.
