Grad will explore the world of IT
As is our tradition, the Wapakoneta
Daily News will feature
the top Wapakoneta High
School graduates
in the days preceding gradua- tion. This year there are nine
students graduating Summa Cum Laude — with the
highest distinction, and we offered them the opportunity to share some information in their own words.
Today we feature Grant Honingford.
Honingford wants to make a difference in the world of technology.
I will be attending Ohio Northern University where I will major in computer science/computer engineering. After graduation, I hope to work for a large computer
chip company where I will apply myself to further advance modern technology.
High school activities
In high school, I participated in cross country, swim, track and esports. I was a
member of Octagon club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the National Honors Society. Outside of school I participated in Boy
Scouts and during the summer I worked as an IT Assistant for the high school. I thank Boy Scouts for building
my communication and leadership skills that I have
been able to demonstrate throughout my schooling
experience. The sports I participated in school have
helped me to build my communication skills as well as
stress the importance of determination in life.
High school memories and more
I thoroughly enjoyed my many trips to the State Tournament for swimming and all of the team bonding I have
experienced throughout it. The thing I will miss most about high school is the team
bonding I experienced during all of my sports and extracurricular activities. However, I am looking forward to meeting new like-minded people in college who I can work with and form bonds with. Advice to share
My advice to students is to stay determined throughout
all of high school. There is a good balance
between working hard and enjoying the memories that are made. I stress for students to find that balance.
