Carol Joanne Vaughn, 84

Carol Joanne Vaughn, 84, of St. Marys, died 4:42 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Otterbein-st. Marys.

She was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Coshocton, OH the daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Hackenbracht) Hothem. On April 4, 1958, she married Edward Harold Vaughn, and he died July 12, 2012.

Survivors include a son, Mark Vaughn, Wapakoneta; a daughter-in-law, Cindy G. Vaughn, Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Zachary Mason Vaughn, Ryan E. (Amy) Vaughn,

Ashley M. Vaughn; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hothem; a brother-inlaw, Richard Telenko; a special cousin, Jeanie Pollock; several nieces, nephews, and the adopted Sutton family.

She was preceded in death a son, Dale Kent Vaughn, a daughterin-law, Laura Vaughn, a brother, John Hothem, and a sister, Marilyn Telenko.

Carol worked at the Canton City Schools as a para-educator.

She also worked at the former Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital in the purchasing department. Carol was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, and a very active resident at Otterbein-st. Marys. She volunteered at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, and at St. Paul United Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and baking especially cookies of all kinds.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, with Anthony Brookhart officiating. The family will receive friends 10 a.m., until time of the service, Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul United Church of Christ or OtterbeinSt. Marys.
