New Tourism Brochure Celebrating Auglaize County 'In Motion' is Now Available
The new Auglaize County heritage tourism brochure is now available to local residents and visitors to the area. The Auglaize County Historical Society's updated "Auglaize County: "In Motion" brochure is a full-color, 16-panel brochure highlighting museums and historic sites around the county. The sites reflect the "In Motion" themes of transportation and movement, which are prominent in the county's history.
The updated brochure includes county and village historical society facilities, QR codes, and updated site information, and is one of many products created in the third phase of "In Motion," which the Historical Society has highlighted since 2016. The "In Motion" initiative was funded by the Ohio Humanities Council, St. Marys and Wapakoneta community foundations, Midwest Electric Community Connection Fund, and the City of Wapakoneta's Lodging Tax program. Historical Society Administrator Rachel Barber said that the debut of the new brochure will encourage people from near and far to visit the area during the special anniversary year. “We're very pleased by this productive, professional collaboration with so many history entities from across Auglaize County," added Barber.
Brochures are available at the St. Marys, Wapakoneta, and Southwestern Auglaize County Chambers of Commerce, and at local historical societies. Grant funding has allowed for placement of the brochures in advertising stands throughout the state, further promoting local tourism.
