Lois Jean Smith

Lois Jean Smith, 84, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., went to be with her Lord March 3, 2016, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. She was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Wyola, Ark., the daughter of Raymond Silas and Violet Ruth Ramey Hughes.

She was a member of the Center Street Church of Christ.

She lent her keen sense of design and creativity in the decorating of some of the area’s most modest homes to some of the most elegant ones. She got so excited as she chose and fashioned window treatments from fabrics she searched tirelessly to find. She counted her clients and trades people as her dearest friends.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jesse Dale Smith; her parents; and two brothers, Garland Weldon Hughes and James Claude “J.C.” Hughes.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sheroll Walker and husband Don of Fayettevil­le and Carol Bartholome­w of Farmington, Ark.; three grandchild­ren, Wendy Cheryl Bartholome­w, Barry Grant Bartholome­w and wife Sarah, and Jessica Dawn Walker Nohl and husband Brent; four great-grandchild­ren Easten, Chorde and Roe Bartholome­w and Walker Nohl.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Center Street Church of Christ in Fayettevil­le with Bobby Dockery and Ken Reeves officiatin­g with burial in Brentwood Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s were, Weldon Hughes, Danny Hughes, Jimmy Hughes, Mark Scates, Rick Sanders, Stan Sumter, Dennis Moore and Brent Nohl.
