Prairie Grove Senior Center News

Prairie Grove Senior Activity and Wellness Center has many activities planned through March.

The Tiger Trail, a one- fourth mile walking track, is open every day weather permitting for exercise.

Some meet at 9 a.m. to walk together.

The center’s exercise room is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each weekday. It has a treadmill and two stationary bikes for seniors to use.

Another workout is PEPPI ( Peer Exercise Program Promotes Independen­ce) from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Game times are held each day. On Mondays, seniors play the card game Pitch at 10 a.m. On Tuesdays, Canasta starts at 9:30 a.m. and other card games start at 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays, the card game Tic starts at 10 a.m.; Thursdays, seniors play Bridge starting at 12:30 p.m.

On Fridays, Bingo starts at 10 a.m. and seniors can play Mexican train dominoes at 12:30 p.m.

Lunch is served from 1130 a.m. to noon, with a suggested donation of $3 for senior adults.

The senior center is operated by Area Agency on Aging. The agency’s mission is to create an atmosphere of caring and compassion for our senior generation and enhance their quality of

life by generating financial support for programs and services provided to individual­s 60 years and older.
