Help Clean Prairie Grove Battlefiel­d Park Saturday

Looking for a way to give of your time and talents?

Make plans to help with Annual Park Day at Prairie Grove Battlefiel­d State Park. The starting time is 9 a.m. Saturday, April 2, and volunteers are needed to clean up the grounds and get the park ready for its spring and summer season.

Clean-up jobs will include picking up litter along park tour roads and trails, raking leaves, repairing and replacing split rail fences, cleaning historic buildings and maintainin­g historic vegetable and herb gardens. Some tools will be provided.

Please bring gloves and tools if possible. Coffee, water and snacks will be provided.

Volunteers will meet at Hindman Hall Visitor Center and groups are asked to call ahead so the park can prepare for you.

Volunteers receive a “Park Day” T-shirt, and will have the opportunit­y to hear a local historian discuss the significan­ce of this site. Everyone is invited, including scouts, church groups, re- enactors, families, and individual­s.
