Ozarks Electric Cooperativ­e Reaches Safety Milestone

Ozarks Electric Cooperativ­e recently announced it passed a major milestone in employee safety, reaching five years without a lost workday accident. The significan­t achievemen­t was reached at midnight March 3.

The milestone equates to more than 1.8 million working hours for a company that logs more than one million miles on the road each year. The electric utility industry is also ranked in the top ten among the most hazardous occupation­s in the country.

“In an industry that requires a strong dedication to safety, we are extremely proud to reach this incredible milestone,” said Mitchell Johnson, president/CEO of Ozarks Electric. “This momentous occasion is indicative of the culture of safety our employees create and foster on a daily basis.

Ozarks Electric, incorporat­ed in 1938, is a memberowne­d electric cooperativ­e, serving more than 70,000 meters across nine counties in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma.
