Prairie Grove FFA Wins Awards
Prairie Grove FFA recently returned from a successful trip to the annual State Convention at Camp Couchdale in Hot Springs. The week was full of recognizing accomplishments of the State’s FFA chapters along with the opportunity to hear many motivational speakers. Prairie Grove’s FFA Chapter had 14 members who attended convention and received many awards.
Whitney Walker was the state winning Creed speaker. She will represent Arkansas at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in October. Two Prairie Grove members will receive their American Degrees in October: Colton Teekell and Haylie Dobbs. Three students received their State Degrees: Dalton Black, Dalton Bradley and Lauren Suggs. Suggs also received an Arkansas FFA Foundation scholarship.
Kinder Harlow was named Gold Emblem with his sheep production proficiency. Jon Hays earned the opportunity to perform during a session as talent entertainment. FFA members Paul Cole, Mark Dorey and Alley Jackson will attend the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
The chapter also received two awards. The first being an affiliated chapter to the Arkansas FFA Association and secondly, being an FFA Foundation Plus contributing Chapter.
The FFA convention is the highlight to end the year for FFA. Preparations have already begun for 2016-17.
