Plans Made For Sugar Hill Homecoming

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Tuesday morning, the Kitchen Band had fewer members attending than usual but the merriment and music was still going strong. Some members are working and some have other interests but it is hoped we will have a good turnout the evening of Sept. 24 when the band will be part of the presentation at the big Hee Haw Show in the Lincoln Senior Center.

How time flies. It is time for another Sugar Hill Church homecoming, and the church members discussed it Sunday, but didn’t decide the date, probably the first or second Sunday in September.

Now school has started, and next the Washington County Fair. Then it’s time to plan for our Apple Festival the last day in September and the first two days in October, a month away, but it will be here before we know it, with building floats and other plans. Other fairs and festivals will make a busy autumn.

Of interest to celiac patients — Harp’s have been helpful by stocking Gluten free products. Recently, the Gluten free “Good Thine” they had stocked, were changed by the products company, and the new replacements are NOT Gluten free. Even the boxes are different, with red rims. Be sure to read the labels.

Now, some timely humor:

“I’ll never be able to use computers,” Bob whined. “I don’t think I have the basic aptitude for them.”

“But they’re so easy to use,” said Mary. “The only thing you have to do to answer the computers’ prompt is press ‘any key.’

“Yeah,” said Bob. “That’s my problem, I never can find the ‘any key.’

Happy birthday to Vera Dunnagan, Jimmy Huffaker, Margaret Mayhue, Kara Cunningham, Lou Ann Eversoll, Evonne Osborn, Tom Lockhart, Noah King, Jared Munyon, Jeff Barnes, Phillip Karnes, Barbara Goolsby, Rick Reed, Disa Almeta, Jerry Yeager.

Happy years, all!
