Power Shortage Causes Concern

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

“You never miss the water ‘til the well goes dry” applies to other circumstances, and Sunday afternoon ( the weekend, of course), we found it does apply to something we so take for granted.

Around 3 p.m. the electricity in the whole area blinked off and on for an hour or so, then suddenly completely stayed off. This caused concern that generators of various appliances would be affected. Thanks to our Ozarks Electric employees, they found the cause over in Oklahoma and had it fixed by 6:30. Also my thanks to my son-in law for showing me how to turn off the refrigerator. ( The control on mine has no numbers as most do.)

Pastor Rick Reed was ill Sunday morning and unable to attend Sugar Hill Church. Thankfully Cody Chambliss was able to fill in for him and brought a very inspiring message.

Our thanks to Cody and Michelle for meeting with us and all enjoyed the fellowship following the service.

The annual homecoming at Sugar Hill Church is planned for next Sunday, Sept 11. After Sunday School, church service, the big Arkansas meal will follow at noon. The most enjoyable music all afternoon is something to look forward to, as well. Everyone is welcome for the day. This is only the second Sunday of the month and the month is almost half gone. How time flies! Labor Day and V Day have passed, and September remaining is school success month, Little League, college planning, teddy bear, baby safety, children’s good manners, piano, sewing, fall hat, honey, biscuit, chicken, rice, mushroom, potato, reunion planning and Southern Gospel music month.

Happy birthday to Rosa Brown, Scott Meyer, Derek Abshire, Jean Graham, Amanda Cleek, Dianna Russell, Justin Pitts, Eric Snarr and David Snarr ( twins), Logan Woffard, Patrick Swope, and Krista Boyd.

Happy Anniversary to J.W. and Darlene Cheatham, Bobby and Dianna Russell and Rick and Raylene Reed.

Happy years, all!
