A Farmington High School teaching assistant faces a felony charge in connection with delivery of marijuana, a c cord ing to a probable-cause affidavit from the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
Skye Peterson, 34, of 11825 N. Clubhouse Parkway in Farmington, was booked into Washington County Detention Center at 8 p.m. Monday. The 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force was the arresting agency, according to the Detention Center’s website.
The preliminary report states that the Task Force for the past five months had been conducting an investigation involving Peterson distributing marijuana in northwest Arkansas. The report states that detectives used a confidential informant who was able to purchase a total of about 45 grams (1.58 ounces) of marijuana from Peterson on two separate occasions.
The informant was wearing a recording/listening device, the report states.
Jeff Oxford, Farmington School Board president, Tuesday morning said he was made aware of the situation by Superintendent Bryan Law.
“I’m sure there will be some sort of suspension until an investigation is completed and we’ll move forward from there,” Oxford said.
This is Peterson’s first year to work for Farmington School District. He is considered a classified employee and works as a special education aide.
Law on Tuesday morning declined to comment until he had more information.
