Edith Keen

Edith Maria Keen, 86, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Nov. 4, 2016. She was born June 12, 1930, in Colorado the daughter of Ralph and Ida McClain Ruby.

She worked at McRoy & McNair Office Supply for over 40 years after graduation from Fayettevil­le Business College in 1965 where she retired in 2005 at the age of 75.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Junior D. Keen.

She is survived by her son, Terry W. Keen and wife Lee Ann of Fayettevil­le; two sisters, Mary Lou Tyree of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Gail Williams of Grove, Okla.; three grandchild­ren, Rebecca Ballinger and husband Elijah, Jennifer Williams and husband Jeb and Matthew Butcher and wife Morgan; five great-grandchild­ren, Sydra Stanley, Wulf Williams, Willow Williams, Anthony Ballinger and Logan Butcher.

Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Little Elm Missionary Baptist Church in Farmington, Ark., with Michael McCoy officiatin­g. Graveside service followed in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayettevil­le at 3 p.m.

Pallbearer­s were Dan Tyree, Randy Tyree, Gordon Williams, Claude Rutherford, Jack Butcher and Matthew Butcher.

Leonard C. Kelly

Leonard Carl (Caliguiri) Kelly, 89, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016. He was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Dean Springs, Ark., to Frank Pasquale Cal iguiri and Maude Gibson Kelly.

He was a loving family man. He was known for his stone mason and excavation work. His many projects include the Fayettevil­le Public Library, the Walton Arts Center, Agripark Pavilion, Legion Hut, the Jones Center, numerous buildings for the University of Arkansas, and many local homes. He owned the first Case backhoe in Washington County.

His greatest love was music and the piano. He could always be found playing for local benefits and town functions. The Kelly’s barn will always be remembered as a place that hosted local benefits and was full of music. He was a member of the Arkansas Fiddler’s Associatio­n.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Frankie and Roland Kelly; and one sister, Arlene Kelly Woodward.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Kelly; his three brothers, Joe Kelly, Tony Kelly and wife Liz, and Jimmy Kelly, all of Fayettevil­le; his two sisters, Cathleen Gooding and husband Ivan of Fayettevil­le, and Barbara Gabbard of Prairie Grove, Ark.; his six sons, Frank Carl Kelly and wife Ann of Fayettevil­le, Bill Kelly and wife Linda of Fayettevil­le, Charles Wayne Kelly and wife Carolyn of Springdale, Ark., Jack Allen Kelly of Fayettevil­le, Dennis Lee Kelly and wife Phyllis of Goshen, Ark., and Lynn Kelly and wife Joyce of Elkins, Ark.; one daughter, Leona Kelly Prothero and husband Paul of Fayettevil­le; 18 grandchild­ren; 32 great-grandchild­ren; three great-great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Moore’s Chapel in Fayettevil­le with burial following at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayettevil­le.

Dale Landelius

Dale Ray Landelius, 60, of Lincoln, Ark., passed away Nov .1, 2016, at his home. He was born June 3, 1956, in Ontario, Calif., the son of Carl and Alyne Ma lone Landelius.

He loved to restore cars, going to car shows and was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Classic Cruisers. He loved life and would help anyone who needed it.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparen­ts, stepmother, infant brother and one sister.

He is survived by the love of his life, Velda Swinford; three sons, Tim Swinford, Allen Swinford; one daughter, Heather Lester; four brothers, Carl Junior Landelius and wife Wanda of West Fork, Ark., Kenneth Duane Landelius and wife Jane of Winslow, Ark., Robert Landelius and wife Sheila and Darrell Landelius and wife Carol all of Lincoln; two sisters, Darla Riley of Fayettevil­le, Ark., and Renee Harris of Arizona; 13 grandchild­ren; two great grandchild­ren; and his baby cat, Climber.

Memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Pallbearer­s were Brian Poser and Jerry Don Canada.

Ruth McNett

Ruth Cecelia McNett, 94, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016. She wa s born March 8, 1922, in Carbondale, Penn., the daugh te r of John and Ruth Ryder Birbeck.

She enjoyed cooking and crocheting. She and LeRoy enjoyed traveling and cooking in their RV and spent a lot of time down in Mexico. The most memorable traveling experience that she made was the trip she took while moving from New York to Southern California where she stayed to raise her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy McNett, and her brother, Jack Birbeck.

She is survived by her two sisters, Esther Rees of Missouri, and Sandra Leichliter and husband Nevin of Hiawatha, Iowa; her three daughters, Cheryl George of Prairie Grove, Karen Jenkins of St. Charles, Ark., and Nancy Hulshizer and husband Larry of Lincoln, Ark.; eight grandchild­ren; seven great-grandchild­ren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Dolly Marie Myers

Dolly Marie Myers, 84, of Springdale, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Nov. 3, 2016. She was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Wister, Okla., the daughter of Richard and Mildred Hill Bullard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer James Myers; one grandson, Kenneth Wayne Myers Jr.; one brother, Zeddie Bullard; and two sisters, Helen Nicolau and Zinia Bookout.

She is survived by three sons, Paul Myers and Kenneth Myers and wife Gail all of Springdale and Rick Myers of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; two daughters, Nancy Martsching and husband Mark of Springdale, Marsha King and husband James of Fayettevil­le; 11 grandchild­ren, Chad, Kim, Julie, Nicci, Payton, Teagan, Wes, Brad, Jimmy, Jesse, and Josh; and eight great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service was held at 2 p. m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial was in Beaty Cemetery and no graveside services were held. Pallbearer­s were her grandchild­ren.

Marilee N. Nelson

Marilee Nebelsick Nelson, 86, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, in Prairie Grove, Ark. She was born March 1 , 1930, in Lincoln, N eb ., to Rhoda and Albert Nebelsick.

In the fall of 1980, she and her daughter Cyndy, opened Life’s Treasures in Little Rock, Ark. She later moved to Prairie Grove and opened the Antique Emporium, which she actively ran until her death. Her other passions included gardening, fishing, and reading. She was generous, humorous and loved her family. She was also the strong and independen­t matriarcha­l head of her family. She had such a vivacious personalit­y, the world shook when she died. She will be profoundly missed.

She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Frans.

She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Frans Hall and Cyndy Frans Binder, their husbands, Dr. Benjamin Hall and Allen Binder, all from Prairie Grove; her grandchild­ren, Heather Hall Bottoms and husband Nathan, Jill Knoke McFall and husband Todd, Rachel Hall Kohutek and husband Mark, Cassie Knoke Clark and husband Kasey, Lauren Hall Bylow and husband Kris, Clay Frans, Molly Frans, Lauren Binder Ferguson and husband Travis; her precious 15 great grandchild­ren; brother, Jack Nebelsick and wife Bonnie; nieces and nephews, Tom, Susan, Becky and Dan; former husband and father of her children, Robert Frans; and former husband Larry Nelson.

Barbara Phillips

Barbara Kay Phillips, 59, of Prairie Grove, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Nov. 2, 2016, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le, Ark. She was born May 13, 1957, in Poteau, Okla., the daughter of Allen and Lucrisha Francis McCray Latta.

She was strong in her faith and enjoyed being active in her church. She had a beautiful voice and shared her love for the Lord by singing in the New Hope Church Choir. She will be forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eddie Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Onnie Phillips; three daughters, Rhonda Morgan and her husband Johnny of Lincoln, Ark., Crystal Contreras and her husband Nali of Prairie Grove, Jenny Smith and her husband Shannon of Centerton, Ark.; one son, Christophe­r Reed of Lincoln; one brother, Billy Gibson of Oklahoma; three sisters, Mae Ross of Fayettevil­le, Brinda Johnson of Poteau and Cathy. Her joy was being able to spend time with her eight grandchild­ren Jonathan, Natasha, Daniel, Carlos, Landen, Isabella, Destanee and Brooke. Her time spent with her five great- grandchild­ren was precious to her, as well as many others she considered her family.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at New Hope Church near Prairie Grove. Burial was in the Dutch Mills Cemeteryan­d no graveside service was held.

Jean Ann Schindler

Jean Ann “Jeannie” Jordan Schindler, 62, passed away suddenly at Washington Regional Medical Center on Oct. 21, 2016, when she went to be with her parents Elmo and Betty Jordan. She was born June 3, 1954.

She was employed by Washington Regional Medical Center for over 30 years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Terrance “Terry” Schindler. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by two sons, Carlos Schindler and Tony Ward, both of Elm Springs, Ark.; one foster daughter, Amy Smith of Prairie Grove; one sister, Martha Phillips of Prairie Grove; one brother, Tom Jordan of Northcott, Ga.; one granddaugh­ter, Sheri Sikes; and one great- granddaugh­ter, Lily Sikes of Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Jordan Duncan of San Francisco, Calif., and Cecelia Berry of Orlando, Fla.; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gene H. Walker

Gene Harrison Walker died Nov. 1, 2016. He was born to Harry and Hazel McRell Walker on April 22, 1937.

Upon graduation from Bentonvill­e High School, he, along with some friends left to serve in the United States military. He spent those service years in the Navy aboard the USS Ticonderog­a aircraft carrier. Previously, he served in the Army National Guard.

After an honorable discharge, he was in the employment of Kraft Cheese in Bentonvill­e, Ark., for five years before taking a job at Jones Truck Lines in Springdale, Ark. He remained at JTL until the day the doors closed in 1991.

He was fond of his friends, food, dancing, and reminiscin­g about the good old days. He was a dedicated family man. He loved this country, had strong political opinions, and his last outing was to the voting booth, three days prior to his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marilyn Coffelt and Kathleen Weatherly.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Yancey Walker; children, Kelli Walker Belts (Scott), Michael Walker (Fauziah), Penny Bowen Wright, Cherry Bowen Long (Jerry), Yancey Bowen ( Ginger); eight grandchild­ren, Blake, Dalton, Brook, Drake, Paul Blake, Chloe, Sophie, and Madelyn; and three great-grandchild­ren, Destiny, Holden, and Ziga.

Services honoring him were held at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016. Burial was at Friendship Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearer­s were Jerry Long, Scott Belts, Blake Wright, Dalton Hill, Drake Walker, Paul Blake Belts; honorary pallbearer­s were Charles Duncan and Michael J. Wright.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributi­ons be made to Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark.
