Richard Frederick Haegele, 88, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, in Prairie Grove . He was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Brookfield, Ill., the son of Fredrick Julis and Bessie (Johnson) Haegele.

He was a member of the Clyde Community Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas in 1954. He taught school in Farmington during the late 70’s and early 80’s. He was a member of the Fayettevil­le Elks Club. He was an avid fisherman and loved working on his farm and dancing with his wife Bonnie.

He was preceded in death by one brother Mike Haegele and one grandson Kyle Haegele

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Reed Haegle; two sons, George R. Haegele and wife Paula of Prairie Grove and Allen Haegele and wife Marweta of Lincoln, Ark.; one daughter, Wanda Biggs and husband Carl; one brother, Jack Haegele of Lockport, Ill.; three sisters, Barbara Boosted of Prairie Grove, Adaline Barber and Pat Sutton, both of Batesville, Ark.; seven grandchild­ren, Luke Haegele, Kate Bargas, Clint Haegele, Josh Haegele, Brock Haegele, Jared Biggs, and Caylan Hudgens; and six great- grandchild­ren, Ella Haegele, Paul Haegele, Jaxton Bargas, Ryker Bargas, Violet Hudgens, and Grace Hudgens.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Clyde Community Church in Clyde, Ark., with Herman Cox officiatin­g. Burial was in the Cox Cemetery in Morrow, Ark.
