Former Restaurant Manager Charged

A Prairie Grove woman and former general manager with Subway in Prairie Grove is accused of first degree sexual assault against a minor who worked for her at the restaurant in 2016, according to a Prairie Grove police incident report.

Jessie Danielle Hamilton, 25, turned herself in Jan. 16 and was booked into the Washington County Detention Center. She was released on bond the same day, according to the Detention Center website.

Hamilton is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy who was under her authority at the restaurant. According to an interview with the victim, he began working for Subway in 2015 and Hamilton became the new general manager in May 2016.

The incident report says the victim’s parents came to Prairie Grove Police Department in October 2016, stating they believed their son was involved in a sexual relationship with his adult supervisor at the restaurant. The parents said they believed the supervisor was in a position of authority and that the relationship should constitute a sexual assault charge against the manager.

In an interview at Washington County Child Safety Center, the victim reported that Hamilton began a flirtatious relationship with him while at work and the two communicated outside work through the app Snapchat. The victim says Hamilton sent nude photos of herself and asked the boy to send nude photos to her. He stated that the manager scheduled him to work the closing shift on Tuesday nights so they could be alone together. The victim said the suspect told him he deserved a raise and she would help him get a raise.

According to the victim’s testimony, the two had sexual relations in the suspect’s van, the victim’s truck and at the restaurant.

The victim told his father about the relationship, according to testimony, and the father instructed his son to end the relationship. The victim reported that when he ended the relationship, Hamilton began to give him discipline action for infractions at work.

According to the Prai- rie Grove incident report, Hamilton at first denied the allegations during an interview with police and then admitted to having sexual relations with the victim and admitted to sending nude photos through her phone. She denied offering the victim a salary raise or any other compensation in exchange for sexual relations.

Prairie Grove Police forwarded its investigation for review to the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney’s office on Oct. 17, according to Capt. Jeff O’Brien. The prosecuting attorney’s office issued a warrant for Hamilton’s arrest.

Michelle Culpepper with the Prairie Grove Subway on Thursday said Hamilton is not with the restaurant anymore but said she could not comment further because it was a police matter.

In an email, Kevin Kane, public relations manager with Subway franchise world headquarters in Milford, Conn., wrote that the company was looking into the situation but could not comment further.

Kane stated Subway restaurants are 100-percent franchised operations and employees of individual restaurants are hired and managed by the franchise. The corporate office does not maintain records of employees, Kane wrote.
