To the editor:

I would like to say a big “thank you” to the 2016 Farmington Stampede sponsors, and especially Sheryl Cash, coordinator, for the donation to Back to School Bonanza. A check, in the amount of $1,875, was presented by Mrs. Cash to Mrs. Silva at Williams Elementary.

The Farmington Stampede is a 5K race and 1 mile fun run, and will be held again this year on Aug. 26, 2017. To donate or volunteer for the Stampede, you can contact Mrs. Cash at farmingtonstampede@gmail.com.

The Back to School Bonanza is a mission of Farmington United Methodist Church. It provides free back-to-school goods and services to students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade, without regard to income, address, or school district. Last year’s event served 690 students from many different school districts. The event brings community volunteers, physicians, hair stylists, dentists, and church volun- teers from different congregations together in service. This year the 12th Annual Back to School Bonanza will be Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. If you are interested in more information, donating, or volunteering with your group, please contact 267-3180 or 530-6412.

Thank you, once again, to the sponsors and organizers of the Stampede for their continuing support! Sincerely, Mary Jane Silva Coordinator, Back to School Bonanza
