FFA Community One Of Its Biggest Draws

- By Corrine Burrus

To me, FFA is preparation for success. All the early mornings, late nights, and endless days working toward my goals have proven beneficial for all my endeavors. I believe that the FFA organization prepares students for career success and sets them on a path of endless possibilities.

Livestock judging has allowed me to shape my skills of public speaking, communication, and paying attention to small details. It has also provided me the skills necessary to sort good stock that should prove more profitable. These are skills I believe will help me in managing my own farming operation.

FFA has provided me the opportunity to educate others on the importance of agriculture in our ever growing communities. I had the opportunity to participate in the Arkansas state prepared public speaking contest where I presented a speech regarding the importance of social media in sharing accurate information about agriculture issues. Later, I gave my speech to the board of Farm Bureau.

FFA has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and support team I believe vital to success in my future career. The journey has not been easy but the outcome will be momentous.

After many years of searching for an organization that aligned with my passion, I found FFA. This organization has had true impact on my family and has sparked some of my dearest friendships.

The community atmosphere of FFA is one of the biggest draws. FFA members from all across the country are united by our blue jackets that hold our best stories, our best successes, and most importantly our very best efforts to educate others and serve our communities.

To me, FFA is home.
