Farmington Senior Center provides support to seniors

- By Justin Freeman Enterprise-Leader

The Farmington Senior Activity and Wellness Center’s purpose is to serve seniors, including those who come to the center and those who receive home-delivered meals through the Meals on Wheels Program.

The center strives to engage seniors physically, mentally and emotionally by providing activities that are fun, informational and stimulating.

In addition to activities, the Senior Activity and Wellness Center provides nutritious meals to homebound seniors throughout Farmington, Greenland and West Fork. The center’s staff welcomes seniors with open arms, no matter if they are at the center or on one of their home delivery routes.

Everything in the center is done with the seniors’ interests and needs as the top priority. The center exists for seniors to gather for their enjoyment. It is available for ALL seniors from every background to relax, have fun and meet people.

Meals on Wheels is very important to the Farmington Senior Center. Donations and volunteers to deliver meals are greatly appreciated.

Hundreds of local Meals on Wheels programs across the country reach out to their communities to build the support to enable them to deliver nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks to America’s seniors all year long.

By volunteering, donating or speaking out, it can ensure the seniors in Northwest Arkansas can live more healthy, happy and independent lives at home, where they want to be.

Farmington Senior Center invites you to a night of fun and intrigue with a “Who Done It?” Mystery Dinner on May 26. Tickets to the event are $15 and proceeds benefit the center.

The Farmington Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 340 W. Main St. in Farmington. They can be reached by telephone at (479) 267-5709. Hours are 8 a.m.4:30 p.m.
