Family Celebrates Meaning Of Easter

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Early Sunday morning the weather looked like we might really receive some much needed rain, and the clouds boiled up like the forecast of thunderstorms was about to happen, but a little rain was all, and by noon the clouds had broken up.

In spite of the threatening weather, Sunrise Services were held in different places. Reading of the services on Mt. Sequoyah was enjoyable. Several attended there, and though they couldn’t see the sun rise, they still celebrated the Risen Son.

Keith and Karen Lipford and family enjoyed dinner with her parents Johnny and Anna Cheatham, Easter Sunday. Afterward, several decided to go horseback riding, two even attempted a race! Later, Misty and their children arrived, with freshpicked, Arkansas strawberries to share. (Dean had to go to his job) Eggs were decorated for the later egg hunts. We have some real artists in our bunch. There were decorations of crosses and flowers, and I picked one up that had very neatly lettered, “He is Risen.” With all the merriment, they remembered the reason for the season.

Our family had another addition last week. She was due April 16, Easter Sunday, but little Brynlee Elizabeth Luttrell arrived early, on Good Friday, April 14, born to Megan and Chris Luttrell. Her two “big” brothers also welcomed her…two-year-old Waylin, when allowed to hold her, didn’t want to give her up! All are home and doing well.

Happy birthday greetings next week to Marsha King, Denise Power, Don Bradley, Brandon Barbosa, Henry Huffaker, Billie Tucker, Bridgette Davis, Daniel Kerster, Nicole Evans.

Happy anniversary greetings to Craig and Sheryl Roy, Raymond and Sue Ledbetter.

Happy years all!
