PRAIRIE GROVE — A Prairie Grove man faces a rape charge after a young girl told police he had been sexually assaulting her for the last three to four years, according to a report from Prairie Grove Police Department.
Terry Martin, 31, of 313 E. Thurman St., was arrested by Prairie Grove police on May 23. He is in the Washington County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond. A hearing is set for
Aug. 25 in Washington County Circuit
Court.
According to the affidavit, the victim was interviewed at the Washington County Children’s Safety Center by an Arkansas State Police investigator. The victim said she had been raped multiple times and the incidents had occurred about one time per month for the past three or four years.
In a separate case, Martin also is charged with one felony count of distributing, possession or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, according to court records in Washington County Circuit Court.
The court file states that officers with Homeland Security searched Martin’s personal laptop at his residence in Fayetteville in June 2016, and located computer generated images that appeared to be child pornography. Martin’s laptop was seized and a forensic examination revealed more than 30 images of suspected child pornography, according to court records.
An arrest warrant was issued June 20 on the possession of pornography charge. Martin pleaded not guilty on July 10 and is scheduled for trial Sept. 7.
