Clifford Edward Clevenger

Clifford Edward “Chip” Clevenger, 38, passed away Aug. 8, 2017, in Farmington, Ark. He was born Dec. 3, 1978, to Mike and Debbie Clevenger.

He loved and leaned on the Lord. He counted his blessings, the list started with his sons. He was a wonderful daddy to two red-headed boys, Gabriel, eight, and William, three. He was teaching them about the best things in life, which are fishin’, huntin’, dogs, chickens, memorizing the greatest lines from the stupidest movies and cooking whatever you caught, killed or gathered. These boys were his world and he put what they needed and wanted first.

Being close to the people and the places he loved was so important to him, he and the boys lived on Goose Creek Road, in a house built by his grandfather for his great-aunt and then remodeled by his father for him and the boys.

He came by his love of all things outdoors naturally. He was raised on the lake and in the woods surrounded by people that are related to him and friends, like Kenny Skelton, that are family.

He graduated Farmington High School, class of 1997, with a group of boys making memories that shaped them into the men they became. They continued to make memories, together with their own children. They shamelessly recalled stories from 20 years or two weeks ago and no cringe-worthy event was off-limits. They laughed at each other, sat around, firing off crude one-liners until faces hurt from laughing, or in Chip’s case, giggling. Most importantly about these boys, now men, is that, when needed, they swooped in and rescued one another no matter what. They will go on laughing at and crying for Chip.

He proudly delivered Anheuser-Busch products, working for McBride Distributing and then A&B Distributing, recently being promoted to salesman. He always worked with friends, and people and clients that became friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Clifford “Tootsie” Clevenger; grannie, Willie and grandpa, Shorty Reynolds; uncle Jerry Lee Clevenger, uncle Steve Cupps; Wendall Stevens; Greg Samuels; and many other loved ones.

He is survived by his sons, his pride and his joy, Gabriel Michael Clevenger and William James Clevenger; his parents; sister, Tina and her husband and girls, Garry, Ebb and Augusta King; grandmother, Mary Clevenger; many aunts, uncles and cousins; the Shelley family, especially Brian, his life-long companion; and Brandy Huskey, a soul mate, who fulfilled his last months with a love that was meant to last forever.

A funeral service was held Aug. 15 and burial followed in Farmington Cemetery.
