Shirley M. Griscom Reeves, 81, died Aug. 12 , 2017, in St. Louis, Mo. She was born March 3, 1936, in Lincoln, Ark.

She was a 1958 graduate of University of Arkansas. She was employed as a teacher at various schools including Ursuline Academy in Kirkwood for 18 years. She was an active member of the Affton Presbyteri­an Church for 50 years serving as a Deacon, Elder, Sunday School teacher, VBS leader, Stephen Minister and Presbytery delegate. She volunteere­d at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Affton and Isaiah 58 Food Pantries, and supported several philanthro­pic organizati­ons. She loved her family, family vacations, church, visiting and traveling with friends, reading and swimming.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale R. Reeves and her parents, Margaret and Clark Griscom/Carl Barkman.

She is survived by her sibling, Bill Griscom (Barbara); her three daughters, Debbie (Steve) Kimes, Sarah (Dan) Bock, and Suzanne (Nat) Brooks; seven grandchild­ren, Bradley and Austin Kimes, Kevin and Michael Bock, and Preston, Elizabeth and Thomas Brooks; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Road in St. Louis at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, until the service at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Affton Food Pantry or St. Anthony’s Hospice de Greeff House.
