Solar Eclipse Across Country Resembles Purple Sash Of Royalty

The United States just experienced something that was a once-in-a-lifetime event — a total eclipse of the sun. Here in NWA, we had 90 percent eclipse giving us a “crescent sun.” The shadow of the moon crossed the continent from NW to SE, from coast to coast. As I looked at its path, it resembled a sash such as is worn across a king’s uniform, from shoulder to hip, crossing the body at an angle. A purple sash is a sign of royalty. Is there anything royal about America? Yes — the praying members of His church, intercessors, who are kings and priests unto God.

What does the eclipse signify? Does it have any portent other than an astronomical event? The Scriptures speak of signs in the heavens; things that are notable as prophetic clues. Last year we had sets of full moons (blood moons) on the major Jewish holidays during the 50th year of Sabbaths, a time of Jubilee. Celestial events can signal changes in divine seasons. In the Bible, the Lord uses the moon to mark his calendar for Israel. The Lord put a rainbow in the sky, a sign of covenant mercy, after the world was judged by Noah’s flood. I believe the Lord has put a mark of mercy across the United States.

Zechariah 3:9 says, “I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.” Can God do that for us? Yes! The land itself plus generations of Americans have suffered a curse from our corporate iniquity — our national sins. Our full measure of favor, mercy, and blessings have been held back because of iniquity.

What iniquity pollutes our land? I believe it’s the iniquity that came from racism, broken vows and murder. Our enslavement of Africans, our mistreatment of Indians, and the Roe v. Wade decision were historic sins committed by our government. Our government represented us with injustice. Decades of national disgrace have brought shame and reproach upon our land. We’ve suffered loss of fathers in the family, economic downturns, and civil unrest. We need an awakening to turn our nation around. How can this change occur? Because of this: 1) The God of Mercy is faithful to his word, his covenants and promises. 2) God’s people have been repenting and praying earnestly.

For most of my adult life, various movements of intercessory prayer have occurred among Christians. I’ve seen God clean house politically when His people prayed. The most recent national effort is “An Appeal to Heaven” which features a white flag with an evergreen tree, an emblem used by General George Washington. If we humbly pray, God will hear us and will heal our land.

A hallmark of this prayer movement is the invigoration caused by the inclusion of prophets (seers, people with spiritual insight) having

“I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.”

revelation about how to pray, plus the energizing effect of apostles (spiritual fathers, sent ones) who carry authority from heaven’s throne to issue God’s decrees. The result is the church is moving from congregationalism into becoming the Lord’s ecclesia, able to legislate heaven’s will on the earth in a way that holy angels can enforce. That’s when things will shift.

It’s time for us to confess our sins and cleanse our hearts so salvation can come.
